First photopost on any of my blogs in weeks. Been busy with my still-new job. But getting used too it and hopefully my creative juices will return real soon.
I'm still active on Twitter though, of course ;)
“And once the storm is over, you won’t remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won’t even be sure, whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in. That’s what this storm’s all about.”
Haruki Murakami
your pictures (on your portfolio link) are just beyond gorgeous omg
Huu, thank you so much! That really means a lot :)
We are, as a species, addicted to story. Even when the body goes to sleep, the mind stays up all night, telling itself stories.

I keep thinking you already know. I keep thinking I’ve sent you letters that were only ever written in my mind.

Um, kind of super annoyed at a girl on my feed, who though is speaking out against the awful racism and ignorance of other people, is saying that people have "NO RIGHT" to call the new Miss America an "Arab" and that "if you believe that an ARAB (even after 9/11) stole this crown from other true Americans, you all should ask for repentance." While I agree that it is offensive to be discriminated against for being a race that one is not (because Miss America is Indian-American), I do believe being an Arab IS NOT OFFENSIVE. Being a terrorist is offensive. Not all Arabs are terrorists. Geez.
To associate an Indian-AMERICAN woman with the group that commits terrorism, YES that is offensive obviously. And I understand that the intent of people that called her an "Arab" was to insult her in that way. It is also extremely offensive and racist to assume that ANYONE that is dark-skinned is just one race. But calling out people for using the word ARAB is NOT promoting respecting other cultures (which ironically, is one of the hashtags she used after posting). Being Arab is like being Asian. It denotes a place where you came from, not your ideology, your religion, and especially not the content of your character.
I wonder if this girl realizes that by being offended that an "Asian American" (note: the girl I am taking about and I are both, Asian-American) was called an Arab, she is perpetuating the same type of despicable stereotype that is rampant against Muslims.
I am not saying calling her an Arab was "ok." Those people that tweeted about it and say it are disgusting human beings. But it is also not ok to say "HOW DARE YOU CALL HER AN ARAB" like Arab is a dirty word.
