fandom so small we fit in a rickety trolley
Reading ASOUE as a child, I didn't end up with a Violet Baudelaire complex (tying my hair up every time I have to think), or a Klaus Baudelaire complex (reading a shit ton of books about everything), but a rarer third thing I like to call a Lemony Snicket complex (I am very very sad, I write, I love desperately, and I still hope for the best)
the dismal dedications but it's a playlist 1/2
the bad beginning:
the reptile room:
the wide window:
the miserable mill:
the austere academy:
the ersatz elevator:
the vile village:
dismal dedications • part two.
I haven't done anything with my little guys in forever buuuuut
I shrink-dinked them to turn them into keychains!!

this edit is EXTREMELY important to me. because truly, when you see yourself in someone, how can you look at them?
if only they could accept their similarities.
just discovered this corner of tumblr exists the snicket fan to nagspeake fan pipeline is real
IT IS SO REAL. IT IS SO EXTREMELY REAL!! the first time i met other nagspeake fans was in a Snicket server back in the day like the overlap is niche but STRONG. AND IT SEEMS YOU ARE ONE OF US AS WELL #WELCOME 😆
genuinely finding the roaming world while actively being a Snicket fan was like leveling up to a new kind of insane middle grade freak like it’s truly so important. honestly the crossover possibilities are fascinating too though i keep it all separate in my head. there’s a lot of overlap in vibes and shenanigans but i think its fun to compare the two worlds when it comes to worldbuilding/setting/place, because nagspeake is so deeply rooted in a concrete sense of place and time (and even the timelessness stemming from time travel elements is so grounded in the nagspeake of it all and the distinct roamer shenanigans) yet Snicket thrives on ambiguity and anachronisms. at the same time though settings like stain’d by the sea are so rich with detail and bizarre and strange! rialto’s woods made me think of the clusterous forest upon first read. idk where i was going with this but i think i was just excited to talk about these two diva franchises together LOLOLOL thank u for the ask and letting me ramble!! perhaps I’ll write up more concrete thoughts on this matter later…
Hello ASOUE and ATWQ fandoms!
I'm starting a new project! Starting today, September 14, I'll be sending out asks every Sunday to whoever wants them about the works of Lemony Snicket. Next week I'll start asking about each of the ASOUE books in chronological order, and we'll see where it goes from there. I kinda wanted to ask some more general questions first, but I wanted to make sure we got to the Hostile Hospital on the week of my top surgery more. And to do that, I need to start with The Bad Beginning on the 21st. Obviously because I'm doing that, it'll just be ASOUE for a while, but I promise All the Wrong Questions will happen eventually.
Anyway, just let me know if you want to be on my list for asks. There is no pressure to actually answer on Sundays, or to answer every week. This is all just for fun.
Here's a submission for Pat!! I'd love to adopt her :3 (bonus: my girl Snicket <3)
Adopted!!
They look like they could be sisters! ^^
