Que importa tampouco que os astrônomos afirmem que foi um cometa que passou sobre a Bahia naquela noite? O que Pedro Bala viu foi Dora feita estrela, indo para o céu.
— Jorge Amado
I need people to know how similar Pedro Bala and Peter Pan are, and how much Capitães da Areia resembles the story of Peter Pan, but Capitães da Areia takes place in a cruel reality, without fairies or magic, just the hunger and inevitable violence of 1930s Bahian society.
Captains of the Sands is a brazilian book by the author Jorge Amado, published in 1937, exploring themes such as abandonment, social inequality, and the struggle for survival through petty theft and scams, living in an abandoned warehouse.
I have a lot of Peter Pan books (or books that give me the vibes), here's a list:
Peter Pan — J.M Barrie
Peter Pan in Scarlet — Geraldine McCaughrean
Tiger Lily — Jodi Lynn Anderson
The Little White Bird — J.M Barrie
Captains of the Sands — Jorge Amado
Lord of the Flies — William Golding
If a mother was Sacrifice personified, then a daughter was Guilt, with no possibility of redress.
— Milan Kundera
There's something inherent in Wendy's character that I've always loved in the stories: her fantastical, romantic mind and her melancholy. She yearns for adventure while simultaneously feeling guilty because she loves her family too much to abandon them.
i love when tragedies are like “the love was there. it didnt change anything. it didnt save anyone. there were just too many forces against it. but it still matters that the love was there”
“So. Are we to rekindle old hatreds? Thirst for each other’s blood?”

it's so ridiculous and shameful to see people posting AI gen fanfiction, it completely loses its meaning. fanfiction is meant for you to express yourself, to practice your writing and creativity. it's okay if it's "bad" or short, as long as it's truly yours, because the beauty of stories lies precisely in them being told from the pov of a REAL person, in everything having come from someone's imagination.
now, if you're going to post something made by AI, it's better not to post it at all.
i have a hc that peter lives for ragebait wendy and loves that she falls for it every time
Paul: Damn, I fucked up again!
Irulan: He said, his voice surprised, for some reason.
Paul: Can you stop narrating everything we say and do?!
Irulan: He said, like a little bitch who needs to realise nothing he does can stop me.

I don't know if you already know, but Jeremy Sumpter and Rachel Hurd-Wood are going to star together in a romantic comedy! And it will be Jeremy's directorial debut! I just saw this news and I swear I screamed in surprise. I thought we'd never see them together in a movie again, so the news that filming would begin soon brought me renewed joy. This film will be for those of us whose Roman Empire is Peter Pan (2003), especially for those who fell in love with Peter and Wendy. I'm sure the chemistry between them will be captivating.
"Forget them Wendy. Forget them all. Come with me where you'll never, never have to worry about grown up things again-"
"Never is an awfully long time"
