The Infinite Wrench Week #15: Mein Covfefe © 2017 Katy-May Hudson
KM sits on a chair center stage in black out. On the first “Covfefe”, lights fade up to a light pink wash. KM, under god light, is filing her nails throughout. The following happens on the below lines.
“two straight white men”, Rob and MP walk out. They have burlap sacks over their head. They land in front of backstage curtains. Maybe they are shirtless. I’d like that.
“Covfefe is a cry for help”, Rob shows the audience a rope.
“Covfefe is covfefe”, Rob and Mike start to slowly move beside KM, landing before the next sentence.
“Covfefe me once…”, the men start to tie the rope around KM. They pull her side to side, slowly.
KM brings eyes up for and mouths “said no woman ever”
“*Covfefe,” KM looks up again. On “I covfefe’d a covfefe” KM looks at Neo to her left. He looks back and stops pulling. “I knew that the covfefe would never be covfefe again”. KM is still being pulled to her right. KM looks at Neo on her right, and he stops pulling. On “a covfefe covfefe covfefe”, Neo Dudes look out to audience, drop rope, turn out to audience on each covfefe.
Sound Cue Transcript:
Covfefe.
Covfefe is code for “don’t pay attention to the man behind the curtain.”
Covfefe is the reason for the season.
Don’t laugh at your own covfefe and then delete it, sir!
Covfefe is two straight white old men fucking in the mind’s eye of our right honorable leader.
Covfefe is a cry for help.
Covfefe is covfefe.
Covfefe me once, shame on you;
Covfefe me twice, shame on me.
Covfefe means “hello Vladimir” in some Slavic languages.
“Covfefe on my face” said no woman ever.
If a covfefe falls in the covfefe and no one is there to covfefe, can you covfefe it.
*Covfefe, I covfefe’d a covfefe and it covfefe’d all over me. And as soon as that covfefe covfefe’d, I knew that the covfefe would never be covfefe again. Maybe we would covfefe, a covfefe covfefe covfefe. I hope not. But anything is covfefe.
CURTAIN.
I wrote a play- its happening this w/e only. Come watch! #covfefe
Not a fake. Actual baby bulldog. Thank god this perfect moment has been immortalized in three parts. (at Kingsford, New South Wales)

The Neo Show Week #611: A Hair Raising Hair Cut :: A Conceptual Reenactment
A Hair Raising Hair Cut :: A Conceptual Reenactment © 2017 Shelton Lindsay
Shelton is wearing a wig made out of torn newspaper. Nessa drapes a black trash back around Shelton like its the hair cutting bib. and then begins the task of cutting the newspaper wig as they have their exchange. by the end of the play the newspaper wig should be cut up and in tatters on the floor. lines in quotes are delivered to each other, lines not in quotes are delivered expressly to the audience.
Shelton: So I went and got my hair cut at the mall. And as this beautiful woman began sculpting my hair I thought, ‘Ahhhh, a faggot in the wilds of upstate new york can always trust a hair stylist.’ In the time honored tradition of hair cuts everywhere, she assessed my du, picked up her shears, looked into the mirror, caught my eyes and opened with.
Nessa: "2016 was an awful year, i hope 2017 is better, I need it to be better.“
Shelton: And I was all "I KNOOOOWWWW, what the Fu-u-dge happened, the world is ruined. I can’t believe whats happening in Washington.”
Nessa: (cocks her head to the side) "What sort of Political opinions do you have.”
Shelton: ”Why I’m a pretty devoted sort of extreme lefty liberal type.“
Nessa: “So you voted for Obama… you know we don’t even known where he was born…”
Shelton: This was not exactly what I was expecting her to say.
Nessa: ”I had this liberal kid come for a hair cut last week and I said I voted for Trump, and he got up and ran out of the Salon. can you BELIEVE that. Hair half cut, So Rude.”
Shelton: This was exactly what I had been planning on doing. But realizing just how awful and rude that would be I stayed put. We talked honestly. And kindly, mostly about politics for 30 minutes. Towards the end of our conversation and in what felt like a last ditch attempt to validate her actions she looked at me and said:
Nessa: “The real reason I voted for him, I mean I think he’s crazy, like real crazy, and I don’t like him at all, but the real reason is because I trust a crazy man, more then a crazy woman. Know what I mean.”
Shelton: I could not hide the sorrow from my face. Through the mirror I watched as her face broke and changed, seeking stability. “I don’t think that way…”
Nessa: “You know… I feel bad for you liberals… you have the right ideas. you want people to be free to be themselves.”
Shelton: “Yes, that’s what I want.”
Nessa: “But they make so much fun of you in the news.”
Shelton: “Depends what news you watch.”
Nessa: “Well they make fun of you on the news I like.”
Shelton: And I don’t have an answer for that. Watch different news, like different things, stop acting like you’re in high school. I don’t know. What are the answers, is it too late for answers? I fear I understand nothing.

Tonight I actually got to see TMLMTBGB in the city and it was incredible. I organized a whole trip for the society to go and I could definitely tell that everyone loved it. I almost cried on several occasions and my throat hurts from cheering and laughing. I got on stage at one point and I got to watch all of the other member of my cast participate and get called up, too! Overall, slightly life changing. Brilliant. Amazing. 10/10
Thanks, @neveruptostandards!!!
In our fifth episode of Sitting in Bathrooms with Trans People I interview Oliver Chinyere and turned the trans bathroom experience into an old school video game.

TML Week #586: Why is that?
Why is that? © 2016 Katy-May Hudson
KM and Ash face one another on stools and are cheated out toward the audience slightly. They have soft focus. Their task is to focus into the distance.
KM: We’ve never done a play with just the two of us. Ash: We have not. KM: Why is that? (Beat.) KM: We’ve been trying to write a play for just the two of us Ash: Yes. We have. KM: But? Ash: But, we’ve been finding it difficult. KM: Yes, its been difficult. Ash: Why is that? (Beat.) KM: We create this menu Ash: and its always light on women talking. KM: to just each other. Ash: without male bodies on stage KM: while connecting, face to face, Ash: with real moments. KM: Why is that? (Beat.) Ash: this play passes most basic tests. KM: The Bechdel Test. Ash: sexy lamp test? Sphinx Test? KM: 37% of theater roles were written for women. Ash: Why is that? (Beat.) KM: Last week’s cast: four men, two women. Ash: 87 parts written for Neo’s. KM: 34 parts went to women. That’s 39%. Ash: Still we did not talk to each other on stage… KM: Why is that? (Beat.) Ash: Last week, of our 30 plays/ KM: /13 were written by women/ Ash: /but we weren’t talking to each other/ KM: /or writing for each other/ Ash: /or writing about each other/ KM: Even though we had the voices of 4 women being represented/ Ash: /Even though we’ve been meaning to/ KM: /wanting to, so badly.. Ash: Why is that?
Beat. KM looks at Ashley. Ashley turns to KM. They lock eyes.
KM: I wrote this play for us. Ash: You did. KM: I wrote it to address a problem. Ash: Did you? KM: Yes. And it was difficult. Ash: Why is that?
Male Neo calls “curtain”, both women snap their head to look at whoever called curtain.
Here is a play I wrote for #TooMuchLightMakesTheBabyGoBlind for #NYNF about the role of women in theatre
TML Week #584: Beach Bodies
Beach Bodies © 2016 Meg Bashwiner
Wipe out plays at GO. Neo 1 & Neo 2 appear in the curtains, then spike 2 beach balls into the crowd. They do a high energy quick strip down to bathing suits. They strut downstage to a table that has 2 buckets filled with water on it. Neo 3, the pump up neo, is down stage left on mic getting the crowd going, they wear sunglasses, a whistle and have a clipboard.
Neo 3: Damn!! Here they are, Neo 1 and Neo 2, looking good in those suits, am I right? Let’s see what they got ok. Neo 3 tries to get the crowd chanting “How long can you hold your breath?” over and over again until neos 1 &2 are standing opposite each other at the buckets and ready to hold their breath in the water.
Neo 3: Who is gonna do it? Which one of our sexy swim suited neos can do it? Ready. Go.
Neos 1 & 2 take a big deep breath and dunk into the buckets, their task is to stay submerged as long as possible. Wipe out cuts off.
Neo 3: Over 880 refugees died trying to cross the Mediterranean last week. Over 2500 have died trying to cross those waters this year. They are packed into unseaworthy vessels by smugglers, they have little chance of making in to shore but they try anyway, desperate for a better life for their family. How long will it be before the EU politicians find a way to create safe passage for refugees? How long can you hold your breath? repeated until both neos surface. When both have surfaced.
