The first time, someone assumed I was straight, it took twenty minutes to explain. The first time, someone asked me, “but like, which one do you like better?” I replied, “that’s kind of the whole point of liking both.” the first time, someone said, “so you’re like, a lesbian right?” I just said yes. Because saying yes is a lot easier than saying no, I am bisexual. I like both women, and men. I, am the underrepresented letter in the LGBTQIA community, I, am the stepping stone, I, am the settlement between queer children and their homophobic parents, I, am bisexual. And nothing I can do will change that.

i have always loved topographical maps. when i was younger i used to trace my fingertips along their lines, and marvel about how tall a few misshapen circles could seem. i never realized that i was one myself. when i was eleven years old, my brother called me a pig, and told me i was fat for eating three oreos. i screamed back at him that he was an idiot then crawled into bed and sobbed. when i was twelve years old i learned that my too-big thighs were not pretty, and that my stomach stuck out too much to be okay. while my brothers were scarfing down serving after serving i was unable to open my throat long enough to force something down i wanted my lines to disappear i wanted my map to be smaller. when i was thirteen, i forced myself to stop eating for three days. it hurt so badly that i had to skip school, when i was fourteen, i met a girl with anorexia. a girl who was fighting for her life when everything else was telling her to end it, she had real problems. when she told me to eat, because she didn’t want me to end up like her, i did. when i was fifteen a stranger on the street told me i was beautiful. and i wish desperately that i could go back in time and thank him because he made me start to think that maybe having a squishy tummy can be pretty too maybe my map didn’t have to be erased. when i was sixteen, i met a girl who didn’t realize that she had a map. who looked at her body and only saw barely there flab, and plenty of scars she didn’t see what i saw. i saw a mountain. a trail. concentric circles lining themselves up to create a piece of art curves and ridges making themselves known in the most beautiful way i am writing this poem for her. in an attempt to make her see that her map, is beautiful, that her scars, do not mean that she is broken mountains have plenty of cracks but we do not call them ugly for it we say that they have character. that they have a story, a background. we say, they have a map.

Ok so bullet point summary of stuff cause some of what Faith said was incorrect: - Parents want me to delete tumblr, will most likely private it when I get out. IDK what's going on w/ that.
- I've been started on lithium and some other stuff. My team hopes it will help with self harm urges/rapid thoughts
- I don't have a set discharge date :
(- I've refused the tube a lot and have gotten it quite a few times. (Not 17 though, that was misheard lol. I'm not saying the exact number, because it could be triggering/is irrelevant)
- I'm having a lot of difficulty with eating and stuff, and in general with accepting that I'm going to gain weight.
- They attempted to hold me to get a tube in, but failed.
- In terms of self harm, it's been pretty bad.
- I'm communicating a lot more, and trying to convey how I'm feeling
.- I'm on five minute checks/not allowed pens or colored pencils and shit
I'm not going to go into massive details because I feel it's triggering, and also because I'm speed typing. I'd also like to make it clear I'm not bragging or anything, which is why I tried to not list numbers. I'm not proud of how bad it's gotten. But I do want you to know what's going on. I just spoke with were-going-to-be-friends and they said that if all goes well Katy will be getting out of IP next week! This is great news, but I'm going to guess its pending on a lot of factors. Hoping she calls soon so I can get a proper update! xox Faith
Update
Hi guys it's Faith. I've been getting a lot of messages on my blog ( the-life-of-me22) about Katy and how she's doing. Honestly, I can not give any answers because I haven't spoken to her since the 30th of July. When we talked she wasn't doing great, she was tubed again for the second time and lost some privileges for kicking nurses. That's all I know though. :( I'm really hoping she calls soon. xoxo Faith
Anorexia is spiteful. It’s looking at another girl and thinking, “I’d kill myself if I looked like that,” without an ounce of remorse. It’s sitting in a movie theater and being proud of your ice water amongst all the candies and popcorn. It’s anything and everything to make yourself feel superior, but in reality it’s a horrible cover up for the fact that you hate yourself and wish others understood why.
