The Place of Onions, in old Lille. After last night's rainstorm the intense sticky heat has broken and today is cool, breezy, fresh... I love it! A drop of almost 15°C! It's been positively lovely strolling around the cobbled streets. We have one more evening, and will visit a traditional Estaminet for dinner. Tomorrow we'll head home again... and planning the next trip!!! What's your favourite city with a beautiful old town to explore?
We went to Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire at The Void this morning, an amazing VR experience where we got to be Rebel Alliance members going undercover as Stormtroopers on a mission! Being able to walk around, see ourselves and each other, talk, shoot (and see where our shots landed), it was so seamless. Amazing how virtual reality has come on! . . Afterwards we paused for lunch at @tapasrevolution, so delicious. Lovely to bump into @omarallibhoy there too, still very much hands on in his business! . . Landed in beautiful, crazy, hot, humid, hectic Bangkok this afternoon. Follow along via #kaveyeatsthailand. We settled in to our all-suites hotel, freshened up and headed out for a very quick dinner in the same little soi as our hotel. The morning glory with crackling was to die for, the duck red curry delicious too even though it actually blew my head off! I think I'll be in bed by 8 pm local time, as we're being picked up at 7 am tomorrow for a tour and I can't keep my eyes open... Can't wait and am so excited to share my trip with you!

The Peperami Beef Lips Challenge!
I've been looking for an excuse to wear my Japanese taiyaki hat again and today is the day, as I take on the Peperami #BeefLipsChallenge... because I'm throwing all pretence at being a grown up or if the window, where it belongs!
My pouty lips aren't puffy enough to securely hold a Beef Peperami for more than a second or two, especially as I keep giggling, but I did my best!
During my years at secondary school in the 1980s I so often had an original Peperami in my lunchbox that I one of my nicknames was Salami Girl, yeah I know I know but they were more innocent times!

Kiwi Berries from Nergi
Have you tried kiwi berries? I first came across them in Canada last year and learned that they are easy to grow (there and here) as they are hardier than their larger kiwifruit siblings, which are in the same genus. They are also known as hardy kiwis, grape kiwis and baby kiwis. They are small, thin-skinned and sweet so can be enjoyed as a snack straight from the bag or tub. I'm rather partial to them and hoping to grow some next year.

Katsu donburi
Today's lunch in Little Korea: pork katsu donburi – pork katsu over rice, egg over the top which cooks with the heat of the pork and rice, some onions in there and that pink pickled ginger on top. Plus a little pot of miso soup and some mini spring rolls are included. £5.40 I think, well £6 including a can of soft drink. Love lunch options in Nnew Malden!

Really have a hankering for my Eton Mess Ice Lollies – fresh, ripe strawberries, double cream and crunchy meringue in a frozen format... Might have to ask Pete to make some for me this week!
Dim Sum Lunch
Delicious lunch at Goldmine with the dim sum gang. Loved the dim sum, especially some items I hadn't tried before, and oh my fecking goodness, that roast duck was pretty damn FANTASTIC!
Les Reves de Pierre
This gorgeous new range from @pierremarcolini just launched a few days ago and I've been sent a box to review. Of course the packaging is delightful, but it's all about the chocolates! These 'Songes' (dreams) include some very innovative ingredients such as pralines made from quinoa, spelt and barley, plus some of my favourite flavours – yuzu, bergamot, raspberry, lime and pink peppercorns.
