See I saw someone in my replies say something similar and meant to respond to it, but now that I've finished watching the last two episodes, I guess I'll just do it here lol.
While I can see the difference in perspective, it also just... didn't seem like the Vees thought it was funny either? I mean, okay, upon rewatching, Vox did do a little half laugh when saying "It's not funny anymore", but I think that was just said to try and get Val to listen to him. There were even goofy sound effects added in like it was supposed to be the kind of cartoon violence you'd laugh at, only nobody was actually laughing. Valentino just kinda brushed past it to say "You're obsessed with me" and be flirty with Vox.
I feel like if they wanted to showcase how the abuse was still bad and serious, they could have just, idk... Had Valentino himself remember, say, part of the dressing room scene from season 1, or had Vox replay it, since that fits the sentiment of "This is when you hit him asshole", and keep the tone from that incident the same so that we still feel like it's being taken seriously by the show at least, but Val still just doesn't care at the end of it. That would have felt a lot more tasteful than just Angel getting abused gag reel joke.
