Haven't finished their route yet, but here is the 5 Rules of Throwing Shade that I wrote down from Curt and Rod in the new Date Everything game ✨️
1. You have to know the person.
If you are shady to folks you don't know, that is just mean. (Unless their outfit is just that bad.
2. If the roast ain't hot, you're toast.
It has to leave a laugh, but also relatable the the subject at hand.
3. Don't bring in others in the shade.
They didn't do anything, and bringing in someone else to similarize may just make it hurtful anyway. Aka, don't shade anyone else or compare them to someone else to throw shade.
4. Read their body language as you read them down.
Everyone has a line and limit, don't get caught up in a laugh that you run over your friend. This is why rule number 1 is so important, you gotta know them to know what shade is cool between you both.
***5. If someone you know starts throwing shade on your friend? It is your DUTY to fire back!
Verbal warfare has begun, do what you gotta do. ****
People keep arguing whether Date Everything Developers had the 'Male/Female' Gaze intended for certain characters, but have we taken a moment to ponder if they just used the 'Queer' Gaze? 🤔
Like, I'm Asexual/Aromantic but something about most of these characters have me coming back to friend and love them. ❤️ ✨️
My favorite stuff to read since I was little was my sister's writing, fanfiction and self insert adventure stories that always had me asking for her composition notebooks every afternoon on the bus on the way home.
One of her stories was fanfiction with self insert of herself being transported to the Super Mario universe in the Bowser's Inside Story DS game, and now 15ish years later I am once again making self insert drawings about us. ✨️💖
I love dress up games and websites full of them, decided to go a bit into some lore about a world idea that I will do nothing with ✨️
Story Idea that I would have seen on Wattpad 10 years ago
You chase after and antagonize the vehicle that you assume is ICE agents having taken people from what you heard on your neighborhood app, but when you finally catch up the vehicle and open the back it turns out this was an SCP containment vehicle holding Creepypasta characters.
The last time I got new glasses (about a year ago) I was told that in order to treat my 'severe astigmatism' I would need special lenses... And I was like, what? So they explained it to me and I was shook.
Normal eyes don't see the lights like the twinkling stars in those animated movies??? What??
Anyway, I didn't get the special lenses cause expensive and I don't have vision insurance so me at night is still like "ooh, big light" but now I know that I'm special and it's 'severe'. XD
I literally came back to Tumblr after 5 years cause Twitter is being run by Elon Musk, and every new tweet of his is pushing me closer and closer to just deleting the app and never returning there.
But I would very much miss the artists and streamers I moot with on there, so I take my 10 second breaths and remind myself there is more to life than idiot rich white men.
I downloaded Tumblr to my phone for easy access and this is one of the little "this is the app" pictures they showed me on the app store.
Came back to Tumblr after years (last post was in High school and now I'm almost 22), and I see the First and last post I made on here about boys not taking sexual harassment seriously and being nervous about it...
It's been just over 3 years since I was raped and called a liar by the friend group me and my sister had at the time.
This has not aged well.
What Was The Point?
Maybe two or three months ago while school was in session, most of the boys in my school had to go to a Sexual Harassment meeting in the gym as a guest speaker was there to talk to them about it. It maybe lasted for an hour, most probably less, but everyone of the boys who went either came back complaining about how stupid it was or laughing like it was a big joke. I learned after that it was a woman who had won Miss (insert beauty pageant title here) that had given the information to them and some of my guy friends were complaining how ‘dumb’ she sounded while the laughing ones were talking how pretty she was or bragging that they got a picture with her. I also remember a bunch saying they were just happy getting out of class for a bit. This scared me and I learned a lot about the friends I had who were boys and the other boys in my class as well. Maybe she was beautiful. Maybe she didn’t execute it correctly. Maybe it wasn’t entertaining. I was scared that they saw the fact that they thought an assembly about sexual harassment was a big joke and wasn’t worth their time which makes me paranoid about not just me but my friends and girls around me getting hurt. One of my friends liked this guy (maybe three months before the meeting) only to have me help her avoid him when he touched her breast without even being close to her let alone asking only to have him keep following her around (he stopped after two weeks later but she was nervous and paranoid after that). This is High School. If they aren’t going to listen now, how is it going to be any different in college or beyond that in the real world where it’s so much harder to get justice or avoid that person?
