heyyyy, so, uh... how about that new genocide route for utry folks. how we feelin about that. specifically "that" dialogue option outside of judgement hall. y'all know what i'm talking about. the one that gives weird route vibes like all fucking hell and i hate it so much and i want to give clover and chara a hug.
creepiest part is that it's the most 'true' option in relation to the player. It's the reason you decided to reset even after you get the perfect ending, it's the reason you slog through the boring parts of the genocide route, it's the reason you're even playing this mod to begin with.
The worst part is that Clover doesn't fully understand it, but Chara eventually does. They're forced to be with you and watch you, knowing that your prime motivation for continuing is just to dissect their being completely and utterly, to squeeze out everything they have to offer, and even then, you might still continue to be with them, even if there's nothing 'new' left.
absolutely no one talks about how writing modern stories is so so so much harder than fantasy ones… in a way.
I know in writing fantasy would seem harder. You have to worldbuild and depending on if it’s an open world story, think of multiple plotlines for all these characters and set up adversaries and side characters to make it more interesting.
but I would rather do all of that 500 times over, than come up with a completely original plot about high schoolers. Or college kids. Or an adult who recently got a job (or didn’t, and that’s the story). Or any ordinary person.
because in fantasy, there’s a goal. There’s something you can work towards. There are multiple character arcs you can accomplish quicker. You can have enemies to lovers, or arranged marriage, or even a war arc.
what’s the goal for modern settings? Graduate? Get a job? Marry rich? I don’t want to be reminded of my own (unachievable) goals.
and maybe I’m just uncreative. But how do I make ordinary life seem so engaging? Especially in novel form, because I can’t draw, so I’m not doing a manga.
send help. I want my ragtag group of misfits who go on late night convenience store runs and street racing but also can’t do mental math as words on my doc, not vague images in my head slinging one liners because I cannot think of original plots.
I'm just waiting for the bombdrop that Alastor unflinchingly threatened and insulted Lucifer to his face without actually knowing that he couldn't actually be hurt by him. Vox was only cocky because he knew he couldn't lose. Alastor came in swinging with balls of steel and bottles of audacity.
So, in light of the Hacker episode and the reveal of the importance of names, there's something interesting I want to point out regarding The Second Coming, and why this whole 'naming' aspect could explain why he's so special, and also what it means for some other stick figures as well.
I rewatched AVA 4, or the introduction to TSC, and there's something very interesting I found, which is that, unlike his predecessors; Victim, TCO and TDL, we never actually see Alan name TSC. In fact, the first instance we actually see his name is when Alan opens up his task manager to end their processes.
HOWEVER. If you look back to when Alan was first animating TSC and look at the file name, it's untitled.
Alan hadn't even SAVED TSC under any kind of file name while he was drawing, so WHERE did his name come from?
The most likely possibility is that TSC NAMED HIMSELF.
We have no idea if this is even possible or how he did it, but there IS a plausible reason to HOW he could've come up with this name, and it's the conversation Alan is having with his friend WHILE drawing TSC. In it, he literally TALKS about the incident with TCO and TDL. It's possible that TSC read this conversation or had some knowledge of it while being created, and latched onto TCO as his basis. That's why his description is 'The Chosen One's Return'.
HOWEVER, from the very beginning, both he and Alan recognize that TSC is NOT TCO. He is his own separate entity, which explains why he's NAMED TSC in the first place and not TCO, as well as the colour difference. There's also the fact that TSC was made purely by accident, and not with a specific reason in mind. He was made without a purpose, and so he got to CHOOSE what he wanted to be. And even though his base was TCO, he had a LOT of leeway. Why? Because we see it in the other stick figures.
While the name of a stick figure plays a HUGE part in their powers and capabilities, and even parts of their personality, it doesn't dictate everything. We mainly see that with the other stick figures that weren't made by Alan - Mitsi is just a cute girl name, she has the freedom to decide whatever she wants. Red, Yellow, Green and Blue are literally just their colours, and their description is just 'Fighting Stick Figure', which gives them the capacity to be competent fighters, literally BUILT for combat. However, they have VERY different and distinct fighting styles and personalities that have nothing to do with their names or their descriptions. They have a degree of freedom outside of their names.
So that's that. We're given all the information we need to come to the conclusion that these stick figures have leeway and freedom outside of their names, so it's PLAUSIBLE that TSC named himself, with TCO serving as a foundation, but not the whole, which explains why he has the similar eye lasers and flying, but also that those lasers are coloured differently, and he has powers that TCO doesn't. As for what it means for future episodes, there's a couple of things.
TSC is able to grow and develop himself further with the amount of freedom he's been given by being an accidental creation that might've named himself.
TCO, even though he's been forcibly renamed to 'No one' and had his original identity stripped away, may still be able to do something. He may not have his original powers, but that does NOT mean he's powerless. We've seen how stubborn and headstrong he is, he's not going down without a fight.
The idea that Silksong took place because Hornet got kidnapped is so funny to me because now all I can think about is an AU with Ghost and the Hollow Knight, armed with the fury of siblings protecting their sister and the Void itself, breaking into this kingdom screeching: "WHERE IS OUR SISTER?!?!" And scaring the ever loving shit out of every being in sight.
They see Hornet sparring with Shakra and immediately pounce thinking Shakra is attacking Hornet; only to be scolded by her for interrupting her moment of fun.
They all end up travelling pharloom together bc Hornet still has stuff to do there and is too damn stubborn to let her siblings take her home
My favourite thing to do is to pull out the map and then pace back and forth just to REALLY sell the fact that I don't have a fucking scooby idea where I am lol

Look, I know Xeno was on the world domination kick before this, but he was also hearing the weird messages from the fucking moon after being petrified for thousands of years; I think it's fair that Stan wanted to greet some strangers with violence, actually.
It does, but I feel like if the Japanese crew could recognize it as a synth voice, so could he, eventually. After enough times of it sounding identical. Well before Senku and co. showed up, at least, although he may have been able to recognize that the synth voice was Senku once Senku proper showed up (potentially; he got a very limited sample of Senku's voice, and has a very limited sample of the synth).
Also: he definitely doesn't know Senku by voice; he has to piece together which speaker on all his recordings is Senku by guessing his personality. And also that whole drama of them recognizing each other would've been over in short order.
like Xeno wouldn't have known that this was Senku, he'd only know that this repeating message and signal is coming from the moon, and has also probably repeated the "WHY" at him
Now I wanna see a fic where Xeno freaks the fuck out because he just heard the voice of the Moon Man except HE'S ON EARTH NOW WTF STANLEY RED ALERT SHOOT IT DEAD-
Stanley Snyder has the funniest character concept in Dr Stone:
He's a special ops soldier. He's a marine. He's a sniper. He's a pilot. He's somehow in his twenties.
He's the world's greatest marksman. He can fly a plane and shoot a machine gun at the same time. He looks like a supermodel, lipstick and mascara included.
The protagonists spent three volumes just running away from him. He turned the most overpowered character in the series into Swiss-cheese. The only way to stop him is to petrify the entire planet.
He's a queer-coded villain. It's the least problematic thing about him. He slaughtered the entire main cast. At the end of the series they give him a medal.
Xeno: I'm not getting bit by mosquitos. I don't want malaria
Me: Actually, malaria might be extinct...there are zoonotic strains, but most of them have host animals not in Lat Am, and most malaria cases are human-host diseases, so the parasites would have died...hm...
Xeno:
Me: But there's always Zika, so.
Xeno:
Me: Measles is gone, btw! It can't infect anything but humans! Gone, gone, gone!
Not that I don't get the guard-dog-Stanley thing, but I wish I saw him compared to a hawk/eagle/falcon (there's a lot of overlap) more often. Humans use them to hunt, too! We have pretty mutualistic relationships with raptors!
They're fast, deadly, stealthy, relatively independent hunters who are very much choosing to stay with their human.
Also, like. You know.
They fly.
And they're very pretty in a striking and rather unattainable and rare way.
I've been thinking about treasure Island and Gen not being in the harem group (even though he'd've been perfect) a lot lately and it's just weird to me that the excuse was "he's too tall" and like okay sure he might be on the tall side for a girl, but he was far more ladylike than Kohaku and definitely more than Ginro. That shouldn't have been the only reason. It couldn't have been the only reason or Senku being the logical dude he is would have been "some girls are tall and besides he's so good at acting and sounding like one he's the least suspicious one, besides Amaryllis."
So I can only conclude since he didn't say that he just didn't want Gen going because he didn't want Gen in a situation like that because he liiiikes~ Gen. 🤷♀️
