#finding out my first step dad didn’t actually Not want me in his life after the divorce#and actually cared about me and still considered me his kid#and wanted me to visit and be there for me and love me#but my mother told little 8/9 year old me that he didn’t care or want me anymore because i wasn’t biologically his#even though he was the only dad i’d ever known and he’d been in my life since i was 6 months old#only for his wife to reach out 14 almost 15 years later to tell me the truth#and say she wanted to reach out for awhile but didn’t know how#and then your life kind of changes in perspective#like your past#and you tell her what you were told and she’s so apologetic that you believed that for so long#and they didn’t do anything to change how you thought#and then he reaches out and tells you you’ve always been one of his little girls in his heart and he’s so sorry for not being there#and he tells you he cried when his wife told him what you were told as a child and for years#and you cry and tell your husband and he almost cries for you#because you spent years in therapy dealing with the fact your bio dad and both step dads didn’t want you growing up#and didn’t care#and it was a lie#ouch lol
