See the thing about Stratt putting all media ever in the Hail Mary is that it isn’t just for lolz or to keep the crew entertained, it always struck me as something deeply sad. Because even if all the crew survived, there was no way they could consume all possible media ever, language barriers alone would present a problem. And even then, they had a job to do and focus on first (which could have theoretically taken decades of work to figure out) so they wouldn’t have much use for The Great Gatsby or a week’s worth of poorly written amateur Guatemalan experimental opera. Let us remember that Stratt is practical and true utilitarian Instead, I think it was another part of the Hail Mary. If the scientists failed, if the Earth died, then what? Everything would have been completely lost. Art, music, film, history. Destroyed. Without a single living soul to remember it by. It would be as if all of humanity had never existed.

But if it survived? If other alien civilizations discovered traces of humanity? Then the memory of mankind could live on and be remembered. What better way to do that than to send everything (literally everything, the art, the music, the science, the history) out as far as humanly possible so that it might connect with someone else in the universe? It would be a long shot, a Hail Mary, but it was the best chance that humanity had to be remembered

Your partner came back from the dead after being missing for decades. Every one of their friends who they went with ended up dying a horrible death.

Now, somehow, their entire mental health is based on the continued life and happiness of this fairground goldfish that they picked up.

Neither of you know the first thing about how to care for even a healthy fish. This fish has been poorly cared for, has multiple diseases and the person who handed it over explicitly didn't expect it to live nearly as long as it already has.

You're frantically googling how to set up a fish tank, where to buy fish food, can you even take a fish to the vet? Your partner wants you to know that they're happy they made it home and survived their horrific ordeal, but also that if anything happens to the fish then they're going to kill everyone on this planet and then themself.

You're honestly wondering if you're even helping the fish, or just prolonging its suffering, but your partner will only accept medical help for their many injuries or engage in basic self-care once they're confident that the fish is being looked after.

So you get a tank. You set up a filter and all that stuff. You learn way more than you ever wanted to know about water temperature and ph and nitrate levels. The fish is safe. You start to develop some affection for the little guy. Your partner begins to recover. The fish begins to recover.

Which is when you learn that in its 'healthy' state, the fish regularly refuses to sleep when tired, keeps begging for food that is obviously unhealthy for it (and struggling to eat the food that you do provide because “it tastes gross”), and continually tries to persuade your partner to take it out of its nice safe tank so it can go explore the wonderful world of Outside, where the slightest mishap will kill it instantly.

Imagine Ryland going back to college reunion after becoming a teacher and everyone who knew him (majority of the student body) seeing him and being like: no way this is the same person??? Ryland is mortified when everyone reminds him of how he was like (everyone still wants that cookie tho)

I never really like when I colour my sketches they don’t look right to me but oh well, is this considered suggestive?? Do I need to flag this please let me know if I do

“It’s been a long time since I took a pill from a stranger without knowing what it was” Grace in his full glory I like to imagine they’re in their 20s here. Grace is holding a shot glass with his mouth and drank it after without using his hands if anyone has seen that trick, I think Grace has a LOT of party tricks (Tom is utterly gone of course drunk and whipped) Imagine the picture is taken on an iPhone 5s or something I used the old Apple camera layout on purpose considering this was estimated 2013?

My dynamic for starstruck is they’re both bad for each other but they can’t help but get swept up in the energy anyway ( pre teacher)

No one talks about college ryland grace enough for me. There is so much potential in the pill line that im frankly OFFENDED people dont use it more. Make that guy have embarrassing videos. make that guy a heavy weight when it comes to substances. make colt the better behaved twin in your coltland aus
