Also! Some hearts for the NYT article the other day. Happy day-after-valentines everyone.
For the New Yorker yesterday - illustrating Jia Tolentino’s article on books about “dizzy, quiet, fucked-up, sideways versions of” love. A treat. Article here.
Cute couple for the NYT yesterday. Article here.
It’s the last day of the Kickstarter campaign for my book, which means it’s the last chance to get some of the exclusive rewards, like this black-and-metallic-gold screenprint, original drawings, stickers, mini prints, plus pins and jewelry and y’know, the book. Head on over here.
Drew some crummy low quality sofas for Curbed. You can read the article here.
A video about my Dog Years project, featuring my actual human voice. This vid is part of my current Kickstarter campaign to publish the story as a beautiful fancy book. You can check it out here.
I drew death-themed horoscopes for rad new publication Damn Joan! They’re not death-themed in a gloomy way, they’re about how each star sign approaches death. And YES i did do all 12 of them but Tumblr only allows you to upload 10 images (and also compresses everything horribly), sooo you will just have to visit the page to see them all as they should be.
I just launched a Kickstarter to publish my Dog Years story as a book. Depression is like owning a bad dog. This will be a lovely hardback book book about living with that dog, training it, and learning to make peace with it.
I also made a ton of cool rewards like enamel pins, prints, and jewelry. Think you might find something you like!
Check out the campaign here.
Designed a tshirt for Annex. Very excited about how it turned out.
Some new pins up in my shop now.
I wrote a visual essay about owning a dog, being attacked by the dog, training the dog, living with the dog. Spoiler: it’s not a real dog. The story is up on Buzzfeed as part of mental health week, you can read it here.
A gif for Society of Illustrator’s 60th annual exhibition.
you gathered your hair behind your head / like God was gonna catch you by the ponytail
(fan art for a favourite song)
Two drawings for a social campaign for Samsung last week. Pencil and conté, not familiar materials to me!
It's my dad's birthday. For a gift, my brother wrote a story and i illustrated it. It's about a reclusive citrus grower who has a secret second orchard underground, where he grows albino fruit fed on moonlight alone. Typical cheery birthday stuff. HB PB, love from VB and KB.
Some small drawings to pass the time
