Life Is Too Short..
By the title of this entry, you probably expected it to be about embracing life's potential, living each day like it's your last, and that life is too short to be bogged down by menial details.
While those ideas are meaningful and all fine and well, this entry is much more shallow than that. It's shallow, and I actually think I may be proud of myself for giving to shits about whether in precieved that way or not. In fact; that's a major personal stride for myself as well. Dislike my blog? You've got far too much time on your hands.
To double-back, the image I've included in this entry states, " That life's to short to follow ugly blogs." So here is my promise to you: I'll keep my blog as aesthetically pleasing as possible with the addition of arguably insightful blogs - I'll keep it as pretty as possible.
ALL FOR YOU.

A Little Gift.
I've always loved The Onion: point and case, the image included in this post is genius. Even more genius, I wanted to mention in this tiny update that I was just recently gifted a framed version of that faux-newspaper. Nothing could have made me happier. :)
Well, I guess there is one thing that's always tickled me: a video released on September 21, 2009. 2009! I've watched this video a number of times since it was first released. It never gets old.
- NOW PRESENTING -
"BREAKING NEWS: BAT LOOSE IN CONGRESS"

I Actually Do Feel Sorry..
For anyone who knows me in the slightest, I've been attending therapy for years now, and more importanly, I feel zero shame in bringing it up. It makes me feel more in tune with my more authentic self. Addressing all that needs to be addressed in a safe space without bias can be the most cathartic thing in the world.
That said, I just came across this wisely congruent graffiti to the afformentioned. While what I've said only scratches the surface of why and how therapy has done so much for me it also reminded me of how experiencing bouts of crazy can be equally as important.
Want to truly get to know yourself? Let yourself lose it - if only for a few moments. Let your mind take you somewhere you've never been, even if the prospect sounds terrifying. The shift in perspective, from personal experience at least, can be remarkably enlightening - often scary - but enlightening. One body and one mind contains so many different versions of itself that it would almost be ashame if they were never introduced to one another. Perspective does not need to be contained in a perfectly wrapped box.
Experiment. Go insane for just a moment, and see what happens when you snap back to reality. You'll be grateful, sure. You're no longer stuck in what you'd define as lacking in logic and uncomfortably new. However, there is another reason you should be grateful. By experiencing that possibly - or probably - unwanted episode, you've had the opportunity to learn and gain something.
A psychotic break may not be the most desirable way to gain empathy, but now you have. In addition, you've now experienced what Picasso would call a "Fractured Reality" - a concept and visual he was trying to achieve in his cubist works. By that accord, much like my favorite artist, your widened perspective has given way to a far more vast sense of creativity. No longer are you seeing the world in one way. Now you've opened the door to seeing it in many ways. For artists this is a gift. Most wouldn't change it for the world.
So again: experiment. Go there. You will come back. What's the worst that could happen? Really?

I believe that every photograph should tell a story. I strive to capture a real yet unique perspective of who you are in the present moment. I do this by getting to know you, building trust, laughing and enjoying each others company. I look forward to hearing from you.
