Once the Moon enters Scorpio, it ushers in a few very paranoid, suspicious hours (squares to Pluto Rx and Juno in Aquarius; an opposition to Mars/Taurus). This month holds two full moons, inspiration, and some very hopeful energy.

Most of this month holds energies of change, healing, resolution, and abundance. You may feel strong urges to make changes in your routine, invest in your well-being, buy a lottery ticket... whatever it is, try to say yes. Small changes, can bring big results this month. It happens during a void of course Sagittarius Moon* (Ms M swears in two languages), so I’m a little doubtful about if/how we can use that. Wait a few hours until the Moon enters Capricorn, maybe? That will mean the Moon squares all those Aries placements (Mars, Pallas, Saturn, Chiron, Neptune, Eris) - and the Moon is in its detriment in Capricorn. Celebrate beforehand, while the Moon is in Sagittarius? That’s a bit better. Traditional Beltane/Samhain on May 1? Full Moon in Scorpio, the sign of the Moon’s fall. Arrgh.

[* Of course, the Moon “performeth somewhat” while void of course in Sagittarius. It’s also closing in on a trine with Chiron/Aries - but since Chiron isn’t a “traditional” planet, it doesn’t count toward making the Moon void or not. (I don’t make the rules!) There can be quite a bit of emotional healing provided we’re brave enough to get it out there. 2026 Leo First Quarter Moon

The key phrases for the First Quarter lunar phase are “take action,” and “build new structures to support our intentions.”

The Moon will have entered Leo on Thursday the 23rd, at 19:41 UTC - about seven hours before this phase matures - and I really think that, if you wanted to start “taking action and building” then, that’s a valid choice. We have only 26-27 hours from the Moon’s entry into Leo, until the next ridiculously lengthy void of course Moon begins. “Gather ye rosebuds while ye may,” and all that.

There are a couple of interesting things here. First, is (perhaps?) a serious motivational issue in the form of a Fixed sign t-square: the Leo Moon opposes Juno conjunct Pluto in Aquarius; all of them are square the (complacent ish) Taurus Sun. That points to some long-standing problem (Fixed signs) which we have let become too toxic. Might be partnership-related; might be a “power to the people” or an “a bas les aristos” type thing. One way to approach a t-square is to take on the qualities of the “empty” sign, which in this case is Scorpio - and with which both Juno and Pluto are associated. “Letting go” is a big piece of meeting this challenge.

The other interesting thing is how the Leo Moon will trine all those Aries placements - Neptune, Saturn, Mars, and Mercury - giving us a steady flow of determination and willpower. We’ll want to throw ourselves whole-heartedly (Leo rules the heart) into something positive. (Which is another way to meet the challenge of that t-square I mentioned above.) Have a good, solid plan; and be ready to joyfully execute it.

The Leo Moon goes void of course at 22:21 UTC on Friday the 24th, not entering Virgo until Sunday the 26th at 01:04 UTC - and almost immediately squares Uranus newly arrived in Gemini. Be ready for pressure to make some hasty adjustments to your plans - the Sun in steady Taurus, and Jupiter/Cancer, will eventually help us keep calm and “tweak” things only as truly necessary.

Then there’s another long void Moon, dammit, from 11:12 UTC on Monday, April 27, until 09:03 UTC on Tuesday, April 28. The Gibbous phase matures smack in the middle of that one. Grrr.
