Ingredients to remain worthy
By Kevin Michael Kappler
There is truth to experience
After many years of living
Resilience?
You are measured by numbers.
Age is but the top of the list.
When you don’t have all these ingredients
They strike you with social obedience
To their masters who are the top of the lime light’s pyramid
Wages and the number of wrinkles
Always in a rush
Left alone and forgotten
As the undesirables are left out to rust.
Just like Santa Claus
They are checking their lists
They are checking them twice.
“Who are the glossiest and youthful?”
Here is your cocktails on ice…
“You have earned a place by our side”
All of those “ordinary and defined”
These elites shunned and defiled
Those who don’t meet the “required defined ingredients list”
Of the favorites and the celebrated
Enjoy your “dark corner”
And the pain of being “socially segregated.”
