Watch "Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour ~ Never Aired Episode" on YouTube
This is the April, 13th, 1969 episode that finally got them fired by NBC. After endless politically motivated battles with the network over content/language/censorship, apparently this is the straw that broke the peacock's back. In no small part due to David Steinberg's bible-mocking mock church sermon. These jokes all seem incredibly tame by today's standards, of course. But you can't undervalue the gargantuan balls it took for these guys to stand up against major advertising, network executives & government officials speaking out for what they believed in - no matter how you may feel about their politics or their comedy today. In those days, once you were painted with that "difficult troublemaker" brush - deserved or not - it was tough to find work on national TV again...
Also, Super Dave Osborne (staff writer Bob Eisenberg) has a recurring bit part as a cop!
Smos Bros was on CBS.

The “Christian” slur is superfluous. Has nothing to do with the rest of it and is likely included only for the benefit of small minds w/ a need to be as judgmental as wingnuts.
It’s not superfluous at all. They are batshit crazy. It’s just like believing in Santa, or the tooth fairy, or the Easter bunny as an adult. Except its worse then that. Christians make a fairytale a major part of the core of who they are as a person. This is not a small minded judgement, this is the reality of Christians or any other religious group for that matter.
The entirety of how they live their life is based around fictional stories written centuries ago by people who were trying to control less educated people. Just like today, people are less likely to believe the Bible, the more education they receive.
Just look at the garbage that was pouring out of the mega churches around the 2020 election. Angels were apparently supposed to be coming from Africa to reinstate Trump as president. Does that not count as batshit crazy?
The fact that you have to deny that your remarks are “not a small minded judgment” so quickly into your rap, and so vociferously, proves that’s exactly what they are. They’re nothing but your personal opinion masquerading as wordly wisdom and carry no more weight than anyone else’s. Like a lot of other commenters, you can’t tell the difference between born-again busybodies (who are ultra-conservatives and the cranks behind the phony Trump version of Christian) and all the other Christians, who are regular people. When you figure it out, maybe you’ll understand. I won’t hold my breath.
No no no! “Not a small minded judgement” was placed further into my reply then you put it in your post. I feel that you didn’t actually read what I wrote. The first paragraph was my direct response to you. The rest was backing up what I was saying. It would be pretty stupid to add that line in the meat of my argument.
And it’s not personal opinion. THERE IS NO EVIDENCE! The Bible is not historical. It doesn’t matter what flavour of Christian a person is, the religion is based on a lie. Hell! The Bible can’t even get its own story right. So unless you can provide evidence that the Bible is historically accurate, you need to fuck off with your bullshit.
Religion is a lie told to control uneducated people. Again, why do you think the more educated a person becomes, the less likely they believe a religion to be real? As people understand how the world actually works, they are less likely to believe in some angry, invisible wizard is waiting to judge us. Because all of those “miracles”, they aren’t very magical when you understand how they work in the real world.
Currently, the Bible is used to allow completely unacceptable behaviours and beliefs. And I have personal experience with this bullshit. Fuck! Just look at the wild shit that Republicans are trying to do “in the name of the Bible”. And “the others”? They aren’t much better. They are still leading their lives based on a fucking fairytale.
If someone claimed Harry Potter was true and lived their lives based on the books, you would call them insane. The problem is, Harry Potter is more accurate then the Bible is. It’s also better written and doesn’t contradict itself like the Bible does. Religion does nothing but hold humanity back. Prove me wrong.

The phrase "small minded judgment" is in the first paragraph of your original reply to me. I didn't move anything. Everything in your last rant is simply opinion. You haven't disproven anything. It takes more than "because I said so" to disprove an argument. Your statements about Harry Potter are fatuous -- it's a fictional tale that no one is being asked to take seriously. The Bible is meant to be taken on faith, which is something you obviously don't understand. It's immaterial to me whether you choose to believe -- I'm not an enforcer. But your simple dismissal of religion and faith -- ANY religion and faith -- proves how little grasp you have of things larger than yourself. I'll take "small minded judgment" for $1l000, Alex -- in spades.
Not debating you any further. If the above is all you've got, not worth my time.

You know you’re in a sketchy neighborhood when they steal the wheels off of abandoned shopping carts.
Like, what are they even doing with them? Wrong answers only. (at Los Angeles, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/CjWR2afPCuF/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
not to put a damper on this funny-haha post about homelessness and poverty, but i think that’s full of someone’s belongings and they probably took the wheels off so it wouldn’t roll away downhill or in the breeze and they can just pick up the front end and push it like a wheelbarrow when they need to move it. kind of smart actually.
i mean. uh. it’s definitely so they can build go karts?
This issue was raised on Instagram. I know the difference between something holding someone’s possessions, and an abandoned shopping cart full of trash. This entire block was full of trash and abandoned things. I know, because I walked around all of it.
I would never dehumanize a person for being homeless (or any reason, to be honest), and I promise you I didn’t do that with this post.
You dehumanize people for being Christian all the time because you can’t tell the difference between born-again busybodies and normal Christians. You did it a few panels back w/ the guy who spiked his own bicycle. Your bad experience is not everybody else’s.
I love their hit single “All Fall Down”.
