Since I know far too much about AC, the previous ask got me thinking. This also goes far deeper into the Assassins lore than the first prompt does, given it’s not mentioned once, so feel free to take it as an entirely new idea.
Techno and Phil definitely has the vibe from popular AC ships of an Assassin and their info guy (Altair x Malik, Ezio x Leonardo, Desmond x Shaun/Clay) - which I lovingly refer to as an Assassin and their Bureau. What’s more romantic in a world full of death and deceit than returning to check in on someone in a place you know is safe, secure, and trustworthy?
Phil can be the bureau. He can be the safe haven for assassin Techno. He can save Techno from the Templars and lead him to an Assassin’s hideout. He can’t be an exact Lucy stand-in because -spoilers- Lucy is a Templar triple agent instead of an undercover Assassin double agent and is actually betraying everyone. And she’s killed pretty anticlimactically. So we don’t want that. He won’t be a Shaun stand-in because I don’t remember Shaun or Rebecca doing anything Assassin worthy. Clay’s story makes me cry. Let me download my dying boyfriend into my head, dammit game
Phil can be the undercover agent that’s actually on Techno’s side all along, he can be the one to lead Techno to the physical bureau they’ll be safely working out of, and Phil can also be something of a mentor. The animus gives Techno a lot of theory and knowledge; this is how Assassins operate, this is how the Leap of Fate is performed, this is how to hide bodies, etc. but all of this knowledge is from hundreds of years in the past. What Techno needs is someone who can bridge the gap and tell him how Assassins operate in the present day. It’d be really fun if Techno and Phil run their first mission or two together. It would probably involve getting Abstergo off their tail. After that there’s plenty of wiggle room for Phil to hold down the hideout while Techno runs missions or jumps in the Animus.
Throw in some conflict involving the present day Assassins being so splintered and weak that the two are practically alone (plus or minus a few rookies depending on your character preferences), some shared trauma from Phil getting in the Assassin Animus to help Techno if say he’s in a coma or involving their ancestors, and/or the fallout of Phil extracting Techno earlier than ordered because the scientist Vidic stand-in was going to put him in an Animus too and he didn’t want his brains to get scrambled so he ignored orders.

See my thought when I posted was somewhere along the lines of descendant that looks very much like his ancestors similar to Techno. Kind of like reincarnation but only in looks (of course full reincarnation is cool too)

I've been talking with a few friends about the difficulty finding ship content in this fandom, and to take a couple of cues from an adjacent fandom, I'd like to propose we band together under a broader 'dsmpshipping' tag. Over my months in this fandom, I've found a community mostly by chance- by crawling through tags and linking tumblr accounts to ao3 handles and once by just bursting into a discord channel and saying 'hey, i think these two characters should kiss'.
Honestly? The notes and kudos and secret discord invites bear out. There are shippers in this fandom. Let's figure out how to communicate with each other.
Although this proposal is coming from someone with a positive stance on shipping, I think this tag would be useful regardless of one's personal stance. it will make it easier for people to block each other and move on, and will remove ambiguity in some cases where there's previously been ambiguity- I'm thinking primarily of tntduo here, but there are definitely others. If it's tagged as ship, it's intended as such; if it's not tagged as ship, it's not. it will also make it easier for people who do not like ship content to avoid it by having a single, easily-blockable tag.
I think everyone on this hellsite will have a happier, healthier experience if there's an established way to differentiate nonship and ship content, and I'd love to hear other takes from people whose stances aren't solely 'ship content shouldn't exist at all'. (pro-tip: if you send me an ask saying 'ship content shouldn't exist', I will screenshot it, send it to the groupchat to mock, and delete it)
Assassin’s creed au
Modern day Techno is kidnapped and strapped into the Animus to access the memories of his ancestors: one of the emperors of the Antarctic Empire, and a anarchist leader of The Syndicate.
He’s rescued by a suspiciously familiar blond double agent working undercover for the group that kidnapped him.
It’s not often Phil takes a break from his world. He meets Techno at a small tournament hub. His heart stops when Techno says his soulmate words, the last words he’ll hear before they die, and is killed by another competitor. Phil is crying and covered in blood by the time he’s killed off all the other fighters. Techno is right there to cheer and comfort him when he’s transported back to the main lobby. Thankfully, the words only applied to first death. Phil’s never been more happy for respawn.
Being Hypixel Champion has it’s perks. Unfortunately it also has some disadvantages. One disadvantage comes in the form of grudges. This grudge in particular results in a curse sending Techno straight into a Hardcore world.
His only hope of survival is the player already inhabiting the world, Philza.
College AU
Philza is an engineering major with a surprising amount of friends from in and out of his department. Techno is an english lit major with a minor in psychology (or something) who’s also the number one in university fencing competitions but has like no friends. And they’re boyfriends.
phil will casually drop a mention about techno in his conversations with friends like “oh no friday won’t work i have to go to the fencing competition that day” “i should bring my boyfriend here someday, he’d love it” “i’ve heard so many rants about that literature professor” “Techno showed me how to do this the other day”
except none of his friends have met or seen techno on campus. mostly by chance of techno being introverted, them not having a face to the name, and techno being an introvert that stays in his dorm room all day
bonus points if they don’t connect ‘Techno’ and 'my boyfriend’ or phil never explicitly calls him Techno, just says 'my boyfriend’ or calls him cute nicknames all the time when talking about him or to him in phone calls/texts
So they start a hunt to figure out just who Phil’s boyfriend is to y'know scout him out, make sure he’s not gonna hurt his feelings, and double check that Phil isn’t just pranking them
They know he’s on the fencing team, is an english major, and a cafes he frequents. They definitely run into and slowly befriend Techno along the course of their investigation because of how many times they run into him
They befriend Techno to help them with their hunt and Techno is too awkward to point out he is the boyfriend when he figures out who it is, so he just kind of... tags along? Phil sees him with them one day and goes to say hi and Techno is just frantically shaking his head like no don't do it, it'll be so awkward.
Phil is laugh crying one day because Techno made him laugh so hard, but Wilbur or Tommy mishear it as just Phil crying when the boyfriend talks to him. The next day they grab Techno by the arm and announce that they’re going to beat the boyfriend into a bloody pulp.
Techno, internally like, “Oh no what did I do.”
Techno just stands there like, “Ah yes let's beat him up mhm. This seems like a good plan. Also what did he do????”
Techno, later, calling Phil like, “Phil why were you crying? Is it my fault? I'm so sorry. Why didn't you tell me???”
Phil, “Dude what the hell?”
Techno’s in, legitimate distress about this. He buys some flowers to apologize. Phil is confusion. It's still really sweet, especially when Techno will ramble on afterwards about the meanings of the flowers he picked out for Phil once he’s assured he didn’t do anything wrong.
Phil, taking Techno by the shoulders, “Listen, don't listen to those idiots, I'll tell you if I'm upset. Techno, they haven't figured out that you're the boyfriend. They're morons.”
Techno, “I know how are they so dumb I don't understand, I talk about you so much.”
Techno’s last conversation when trying to clue them in went something like, “My boyfriend, he’s blonde. You know him. He has blue eyes. He’s short.”
Wilbur and Tommy, squinting, “Doesn’t ring any bells to me.” and "Sounds like a weirdo. Anyways, think this other random person might be Phil's boyfriend?"
Techno desperately wants them to figure it out so he doesn't have to admit it. He starts describing the same date Phil mentioned them going on, but from his perspective. It doesn't work. In fact, it completely backfires and they think that Phil is cheating on his boyfriend with Techno.
They thinks it’s techno’s fault, so they try to prevent Phil from talking with Techno. Techno does not deal well with the stress of the people he thought were his new friends shunning and shaming him for something he didn't do
Phil sees how stressed and depressed Techno is getting because of his friend's antics, so he goes "Nope, you guys are coming with me to my boyfriend's next fencing competition." They come in to see Phil cheering on the winner, but he's wearing the mask and gear, so they can’t see his face. They then hear some of the other fencing team members call Phil the winner's boyfriend. This must be him! Phil approaches the mystery boyfriend after the match, only for voila, he removes the fencing mask and kisses Techno in front of everyone. Phil makes sure to sets them all straight afterwards.

I've been silent for a couple weeks. Not to get into too much detail but my job picked up suddenly and I'm going back to school for the fall. Also my inspiration dried up a lil bit.
I'm really into hermitcraft at the moment with infrequent posts at my other blog @ka-2-yacraft. Once the semester settles and I start brainstorming for dsmp again I'll be sure to post more. Not as much as earlier in the summer but it'll be something! (ﾉ^∇^)ﾉ

Techno’s been in Minecraft Mondays for just over 2 months at this point, and each and every teammate he’s had (politely speaking) sucks. He can tell the admins are trying to stop him from winning to no avail. He’s just too good.
So knowing this, he doesn’t have very high expectations. Who even is this new guy? Phil-Z-A? Phil-Za? Eh, whoever he is, all Techno can hope for is him not throwing the game too hard.
Except he’s not. He’s actually good.
Not only that, they vibe surprisingly well. It’s too much. Techno has never clicked with someone the same say he has with Philza. They laugh and joke and fight together, and it all goes so well. There’s no missteps, no dead jokes, no awkwardness filling the air when they share a quiet moment.
During a slow part between games, it comes up. Philza insists he call him Phil. He also makes them trade contact info so they can play together again. They’re friends.
Afterwards, Techno stands on the winner’s stage with Phil accepting their medal and looks over. His breath is stolen away. Because there stands Phil, the most genuine and quickest friend he’s ever made. The server’s setting sun shines in his hair. His smile is stretched across his face as he holds up the gold medal. He glances over at Techno with those eyes blue like the ocean. When he catches his eyes, he didn’t think it could, but Phil’s smile grows even brighter.
Oh. He has a crush on his new friend.
There’s been an attack on his Highness, King Technoblade. Thankfully, Phil had enough materials on hand to craft an antidote.
Now, Phil is out for blood.
The attackers won’t escape. Even if they try to hide, Phil knows exactly how to draw them out. You know what they say...
If you don’t want to give the Angel of Death ammunition, you have to limit the number of loved ones you have.
Techno’s hair is a hassle
It gets caught in foliage, nearly sheared off in battle, singed in the Nether
But Techno never thinks of cutting it off
Phil wouldn’t dare suggest it either
He sees how much work and stress it causes Techno
But he also knows how much Techno loves his hair, how much pride he has in it, how much he loves how it looks
And that more than anything is worth the work of helping Techno tame it after a week grinding mobs in the Nether
Hey so this is relating to the Maple Sugar ask. What if the nickname was because of something REALLY STUPID! Like back 10000 or so when Phil, Techno, and Pete (everyone always forgets that Pete was there and was the craziest) were ruling the Antarctic Empire Techno either got up super early or super late due to that Phil and Pete never saw him eat breakfast. But one day when they did, Techno got up at a reasonable time and they saw Techno has the biggest sweet tooth ever as he loves powdered sugar and maple syrup on his pancakes

It was all a big coincidence really. (Techno claims it's rotten luck but that's besides the point.) Phil and Pete left on a resource gathering trip a few days ago. They would have brought Techno along, but unfortunately, they had to leave someone at the Empire to rule and make sure no one got any ideas and tried invading. It'd be just like those gremlins in Business Bay to pull something like that.
Phil and Pete arrive home early in the morning. If you asked Phil, there's no sane reason anyone should be awake this early. They move through the base, shuffling like zombies as sleep pulls at their bones. Armor comes off first, wiped down quickly and hung on their stands. Then comes the materials. They dump everything into the closest chest. Their future selves can deal with that mess. Sleep is calling their names. Their next stop is the kitchen to drop off the food they found.
They stumble into the kitchen, blurry eyed and exhausted. They blink, shaking off any sense of sleep in record time. There, sitting at the table, powdered sugar and syrup smeared around his mouth, is Technoblade, co-emperor of the Antarctic Empire and future conqueror of the world, eating a stack full of sugar and syrup covered pancakes.
They never let him live it down. No one knows where it comes from, but Phil and Pete start calling Techno “Maple Sugar”.

If they get in a cart race, Phil is the rider and Techno is the launcher
After getting home, they compete to see who can carry the most bags at once inside

Animal Brides au
Phil is a lonely man living in his small cottage in the woods. Each day he goes out hunting and returns to his empty cottage.
One day he returns to his cottage... and it’s clean. Not only that, the little garden outside looks taken care of and expanded. There’s a hot meal waiting for him at the table. It’s almost like he has a wife... expect he doesn’t. Strange. Anyway, Phil enjoys his meal and goes out the next day as usual. He returns home and it’s happened again.
This cycle goes on a few days until Phil hatches a plan to leave, but hide in the woods and watch his house. What Phil sees next confuses him. A pig wanders out of the underbrush and right into his cottage, nosing open the unlocked door (Don’t judge him, he’s alone in these woods. He doesn’t even own anything valuable.) He follows it in, wanting to shoo it out before it makes a mess. Except, he enters and sees a stranger, tidying up his kitchen. The only other difference is the pig skin hanging on the coat rack. The man introduces himself as Phil’s husband. Phil... is okay with this. The man is handsome and works hard. He doesn’t mind cleaning or working in the garden while Phil goes out hunting. In fact, now that they’ve met his new husband stays for dinner. He still wanders off some nights, taking his pig skin from the coat rack with him, but he’s always returned by the time Phil returns the next evening.
And then Phil ruins it all by complaining that Techno serves potatoes every night. Techno, a pig who loves potatoes, takes great offense to this and huffs before leaving in pig form never to be seen again. The moral of the story is be grateful for your spouse.
