If you have never watched this Ted Talk with Sherry Turkle I highly suggest you do! Some of the things she said were truly eye opening and made me understand myself so much more than I ever have. I always crave a deeper more intimate connection with everyone I come across but many nowadays only want to connect on a surface level. 

Sherry states “Technology creates the illusion of companionship without the demands of friendship.” 

Another quote from the video that really hit me was when she says “If we don’t teach our children how to be alone, they will only know loneliness.”  That is beyond true if you think about it.  Kids nowadays are having more and more difficulty when it comes to connecting with others, and if technology keeps progressing at the rate it is it will only give them less reason to truly connect with others on a more intimate level where they are actually making true connections and being and showing their true authentic self.  (holy run on sentence...shoot me...)
