Improv shows sometimes feel like a puzzle to me, figure it out, have fun while you're doing it, commit and be yourself (does this seem antithetical?)
Tonight's show felt like a show
Like the pieces fit together so naturally you lost sight of the individual pieces, forgot that there were any to begin with.
FUN!
Watch: Viola Davis just became the first black woman to win the Best Actress in a Drama Emmy — and her speech is breathtaking.

Watch: Serena Williams isn’t here for your body shaming — and it’s downright inspiring.
This is why I love and admire Serena!

Any advice for wannabe playwrights, writers, readers, or for anyone in general?
Be a crazy person. Make weird demands. Write the kind of work that you would want to read and see. (That sounds obvious, but I feel like we all fail to do that most of the time. I definitely do.) Have faith that the weird thing you really want to write that you think no one else will like might turn out to be the thing that everyone likes the most, to their and your surprise.

UGH
I’m on page 84 and 17,640 words. Interesting! I’ve started to go back and flesh out a lot of the earlier dialogue scenes. It’s not falling apart yet? There are parts that are undercooked, and emotional stuff with the main character that doesn’t track yet, but that comes through re-writing.
I lost the word-count-a-day thing over the weekend, barely doing any work, just more mulling/thinking than anything. Hoping to get back on the horse. Wrote about 2000 words or so tonight. Which is good.
Still have to figure out more of the bigger things I’m working towards. Hoping to get more done tomorrow. I’ll be happier once I get to page 100 and keep going.

“I think a lot of people feel like, “Oh, I love Harry Potter,” Anelli said. “And they go online and they find friends who love Harry Potter, they start following them on Tumblr, and they see them post about some TV show they like, Supernatural or The Vampire Diaries or a book they’re reading…I think that we’re all leading each other to the things that we love, because we’re all connected now.”

I’ve been going slower, thinking harder, but going slower.
Took the weekend off (kinda) and only did 1500 or so words on Sunday.
On page 77. Lots of words. Still will have greater faith when I reach page 100.
I’m getting home earlier tomorrow, which hopefully will give me more time to expand. I’ve got to think on the problems more and continuing. Gotta watch more snippets of Rectify and Deadwood for inspiration. Not that they relate to my contemporary realistic plot at all, but I’d like, in some places, for the language to be similar.

Also, technically, since The Middleman is owned by Disney, it’s technically a Marvel property. Maybe the Middleman will show up in Captain America: Civil War or something.
