काठमाडौं-अख्तियार दुरुपयोग अनुसन्धान आयोगले नेपाल विद्युत प्राधिकरणको चीनबाट खरिद भएको विभिन्न क्षमताको ५७५ थान ट्रान्सफर्मर खरिद प्रकृयादेखि भण्डारणसम्म भ्रष्ट्राचार भएको भन्दै विशेष अदालतमा मुद्दा दायर गरेको छ।

आयोगले तत्कालिन कार्यकारी निर्देशक डा. जीवेन्द्र झा र तत्कालिन महाप्रबन्धकत्रय रामेश्वर यादव, युगल किशोर साह र चिरञ्जीवि शर्मा पौडेललगायतका विवरुद्दमा मुद्दा दायर गरेको हो। नेपाल विद्युत प्राधिकरणलाई नोक्सानी पुर्र्याएको पुष्टी भएकोले भ्रष्टाचार निवारण ऐन, २०५९ को दफा ८ को उपदफा ९१० बमोजिम कैद सजाय र बिगो सात करोड ९१ लाख २८ हजार पाँच सय ३८ रुपैया ४६ पैसा असुल उपर गरी सोही विगो बमोजिम जरिवाना गर्न अख्तियारले माग गरेको छ।

मेडिकल माफियाहरु !

पटक-पटक अनशन बसेर दबाव दिएपछि नेपालमा यतिबेला ‘मेडिकल माफिया’हरुको खोजी हुन थालेको छ । माफियाको लहरो पहिल्याउँदै जाँदा यसमा नेकपा एमाले र एकीकृत नेकपा माओवादीका नेताहरुको नामसमेत मुछिन थालेको छ ।

राजनीति र पैसाको बलमा त्रिविबाट सम्बन्ध लिन खोजेको भन्दै डा. केसीले आन्दोलन छेडेका हुन् । केसीको आन्दोलनको सफलता भनेको यस्ता कलेजहरुले अब कम्तिमा २ वर्षसम्म सम्वन्धन पाउने सम्भावना टरेको अधिकारीहरु बताउँछन् ।

त्रिवि पदाधिकारीहरुले त्रिवि चिकित्साशास्त्र अध्ययन संस्थानका तत्कालीन डिन प्रकाश सायमी र शिक्षण अस्पतालका कार्यकारी निर्देशक भगवान कोइरालालाई सम्वन्धनका लागि दबाव दिँदै आएका थिए । सायमी र कोइरालाले जसोतसो यो वर्ष सम्वन्धन दिने समय कटाउने प्रयास गरिरहेका थिए । तर, कोइरालालाई समेत पत्तो नदिएर डिन सायमीले राजीनामा दिएपछि त्रिवि पदाधिकारीले चार कलेजलाई सम्वन्धन दिने चलखेल गरे ।

‘सुरुमा प्रहरीद्वारा सञ्चालित अस्पतालले एमबीवीएस कक्षाका लागि सम्बन्धन लिन अनुमति मागेको थियो, पछि राजनीतिक कभरमा एमाले नेता राजेन्द्र पाण्डे नेतृत्वको मनमोहन अस्पतालले सम्बन्धन माग्न थाल्यो’ शिक्षण अस्पतालका एक अधिकारीले अनलाइनखबरसँग भने, ‘सरकारको आडमा प्रहरीहरु र राजनीतिको आडमा एमाले नेताहरु अगाडि आएकै बेला एमाओवादीलाई समातेर वीरगञ्जबाट बसरुद्धिन अन्सारीसमेत अघि सरेपछि हामी झस्कियौं र यी चारैवटा मेडिकल कलेजलाई सम्बन्ध दिनु हुँदैन भन्ने निश्कर्षमा पुग्यौं ।’

‘पाण्डे र शर्माको मात्रै कुरो आउँदासम्म हामीलाई राजनीतिकरण भयो भन्ने मात्र लागिरहेको थियो तर, वीरगञ्जस्थित नेशनल मेडिकल कलेजका एमडी बसरुद्धिन मियाले एमाओवादीमार्फत् झोलामा पैसा बोकेर हिँडेपछि हामीले निश्कर्ष निकाल्यौं कि यसमा राजनीतिकरणमात्रै नभई माफियाकरण समेत शुरु भएको छ ।’

प्रहरी अस्पतालमात्रै आएको भए सम्बन्धन पाउन सक्ने सम्भावना रहिरहेका बेला एमाले, एमाओवादी, प्रहरी र माफियाले समेत मिलेर एकैसाथ सम्बन्धन मागेकाले चारैवटा मेडिकल कलेजले सम्बन्धन नपाएको स्रोतले बतायो । ‘यिनीहरु एकैसाथ आएपछि हामी झसङ्ग भयौं, स्रोतले भन्यो, सम्बन्धन पाउनका लागि झोलामा पैसा बोकेर दौडिएको पनि देखियो ।’

स्रोतका अनुसार एमाले सभासद राजेन्द्र पाण्डे प्रमुख रहेको मनमोहन मेमोरियल अस्पतालले रेग्मी सरकारका शिक्षा थथा सञ्चारमन्त्री माधव पाण्डेलाई साथ लिएर सम्बन्धनका लागि दबाव दिएका थिए । एमाओवादीमा प्रभाव जमाएका सुनील शर्माले भाञ्जाको नाममा चलाइएको पिपुल्स डेन्टल कलेजको सम्बन्धनका लागि एमाओवादी नेता वर्षमान पुनलाई प्रयोग गरेका थिए ।

Probe corruption in cantonments: Ex-PLAs

ACHHAM: Former Maoist combatants have once again intensified their demand for a full probe into alleged financial irregularities involving the Maoist party leadership in the name of cantonments. Organising a press conference in Mangalsen of Achham district today, the former combatants demanded that the ‘massive irregularities’ inside Maoist cantonments be investigated. “There was huge irregularity with funds that the cantonments received from the state under different headings,” said PLA Sixth Division former battalion deputy commander Yubraj Dhamala, accusing division commanders and the party leadership, especially chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal, of embezzling millions of rupees. “Such massive irregularities shouldn’t be condoned, so it is high time the government looked into this issue,” he argued. “We had raised our voice against irregularities in the cantonments in the past as well, but the party leadership hushed up the matter saying the issue would be investigated by the party itself,” he argued, adding, “No matter who they are, not a single person involved in corruption should be spared,” said Dhamala, criticising Dahal for his autocratic ways. Also, Dhamala was of the opinion that rampant irregularities in the party was the main cause behind the UCPN-Maoist split. “The state should probe this, or we’ll rake up a whirlpool of protest across the country,” he warned.

CIAA raids Nepal Oil Corporation's regional office in Biratnagar

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Saturday raided the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC)'s eastern regional office in Biratnagar, suspecting massive corruption.

According to CIAA sources, the raid was conducted following dozens of complaints that the NOC office was neck-deep in irregularities.

The NOC has been mainly alleged of cheating in weight, selling and supplying low quality petroleum products and extorting illegal money during inspection of the petroleum products.

A team of investigators was dispatched from the anti-corruption body's central office in Kathmandu to investigate the corruption allegations against the NOC.Nepalnews.com

CIAA files corruption charges against 5 Nepal Telecom officials

The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed corruption charges against 5 Nepal Telecom Corporation (NTC) officials at the Special Court. The NTC officials have been accused of embezzling funds during the procurement of air-conditioning and gas supply equipment.

According to CIAA officials, the accused have incurred a loss of Rs 51.1 million by purchasing substandard air-conditions and gas supply equipment for NTC. Thee accused had produced fake reports of purchase to Nepal Telecom. The accused have been identified as Senior engineer at NTC , Rajendra Maharjan, Ramnaresh Singh Kunwar, Anil Kumar Acharya, assistant engineer Shree Krishna Bhujel and Bhai Krishna Maharjan.

The CIAA has filed the charge sheet against NT Officials in line with article 19.2 of the Anti Corruption Act 2059. The CIAA has been aggressively pursuing corruption cases against government officials in recent weeks.
