Ranges from something fairly mild, like dropping one of those gorgeous pastries from the bakery down the road, making eye contact with the people walking towards me who just watched it happenโฆ and still picking it up, brushing it off a bit, and carrying on eating it like nothing happened. No pastry of theirs is going to waste, not on my watch - to something a bit more questionable, like randomly telling a stranger who looked a bit sad on the street, "donโt text him" and justโฆ walking off. I don't know if they were heartbroken or dealing with something else entirely, and I'll never find out. Do feel a bit bad now, not even stopping long enough to ask.
