Stopped by #YodobashiCamera in Shinjuku after work to pick up a few rolls of #Seagull100 and #Seagull400 , a black and white #35mmFilm released yesterday. Here’s what I can tell you: 1️⃣ the boxes say “Made in the U.K.” 2️⃣ Oriental is managed by the company Cyber Graphics, which imports black and white darkroom chemistry and sells photo paper. They sell chemistry on plastic bottles that are the same shape and material as ones labeled Ilford on the same shelf. I STRONGLY suspect that Seagull is rebranded Kentmere or Ilford black and white film. 3️⃣ It’s probably Japan-Only (for now?) and I don’t fill special-orders/export requests for film (sorry). 4️⃣in Japan, 36 frame rolls of #400ASA are 800 yen and #100ASA rolls are 650 yen each. 5️⃣ Due to the nature of my personal B&W workflow methods I won’t be able to show any examples of this film too soon but once I do I’ll post more info.
