Awesome Spotify additions this week, including Led Zeppelin. New albums popping in every day!
New Dillinger Escape Plan album coming out in a couple weeks. I'm loking the new track, sort of Calculating Infinity-ish.
The Bad Plus is my new favorite group; amazing jazz and experimentation straight out of Minnesota.
Take a listen to new sounds from KD Lutt:
What a fantastic Bowie track from the upcoming new album. The video and track are haunting and gorgeous.
Fantastic post-snow shoveling album. Makes me want to jump around… but I don’t have the strength… stupid snow.
Excellent new Nick Cave. Sounds like the ambient parts of The Road soundtrack mixed with good ol' Bad Seeds.
KD Lutt Music
In case anyone is wondering, I am making a move to a more streamlined music creation process under the moniker KD Lutt Music via my numerous social profiles throughout the Web. I will be releasing my final 'Most Vicious Mouth' album in the coming months, before transitioning to 'KD Lutt' music. So really no change in creative direction, just making it simpler for myself : )
So this Tumblr Account, Beautiful Destructive Audio, will still function and exist but be used for my KD Lutt Music. Most Vicious Mouth will now be remembered via CD Baby albums previously released. Click Music above to go back to my MVM material.
'Blue Sheets' is a track in a new series called Themes for Film II, a followup to Most Vicious Mouth's Themes for Film album. K.D. Lutt, sole writer, performer and engineer for Most Vicious Mouth, engages in a fresh writing approach called 'music painting.' Photos taken in the field are used as a canvas for writing the music to describe the imagery.
'Cracked Earth' is a track in a new series called Themes for Film II, a followup to Most Vicious Mouth's Themes for Film album. I am engaging in a fresh writing approach called 'music painting.' Photos taken in the field are used as a canvas for writing music to describe the imagery.
Stay tuned for more music painting in the near future, and a true album in the future collecting the best themes after more mixing/mastering tweaks are made.
Most Vicious Mouth is finishing some important collaborative projects, including the upcoming Unreasonable Bird album (soundclips to come), and will then jump off the dead-end into new, uncharted waters. Photo music will become a new driving force for Most Vicious Mouth, capturing the essence of a photo and putting a soundtrack to it.
Anger is sometimes necessary
Listening to the all-new Swans album, 'The Seer,' I become more and more angry that I missed one of their tour stops in Nebraska. Experiencing Gira's beautiful anger live is experiencing music in its full form: encapsulating a lifetime of toil, hardships, loss and chaos in a pill that's hard to swallow, but worth stomaching in the end. The theme here: anger is so necessary in music, and has its place next to happiness, sadness and other emotions. Check out this awesome review of Swans' 'The Seer' here: http://thequietus.com/articles/09994-swans-the-seer-review
A fantastic 'metal' band from the early 90s turned textural rock, Cynic resurfaced some early material deemed the Portal Tapes (some of which is found on their rereleased 'Focus' album). It's an incredibly relevant part of their music catalogue, and highly recommended.
Two Albums and Autumn
Autumn returns in a flurry of projects. Long periods of inactivity on the Most Vicious Mouth front = a growing need to write and be creative again. Two albums of material, one that is two years in the making, are soon coming to fruition. Sounds coming your way soon.
Mixing with foundation set = Trying
Listening to back-burner material from years ago, I'm excited and staggeringly unsure how to proceed. I have far more experience with sound production than when I first worked on these songs, but I'm afraid to disrupt the mix already in place. Trying but beautiful challenges ahead.
Listen to some of this material in its infancy here.
Storm Corrosion renews my faith in thriving, popular artists such as Steven Wilson and Mikael Akerfeldt, who are making music not to please their fans, but themselves. Check out 'Drag Ropes,' the era of new ambient is here.
