Rant pt 7.

Well my annoying ass survived till 2017. Sorry, lol. Let's see. Well let me tell you about new years ish. So let me explain a bit first. I give out cute little nick names to my customers at work, we got grandpa jimmy, crazy old dude, robot guy, crackhead, scruffy cop, tiger woods, and hot cop. On friday at work hot cop comes in and well he was acting kinda crazy, and made me, physically made me do this secret hand shake with him, and tells me i bettrr remember it the next time he comes in... hot cop has been demoted to, crazy cop. I don't know about this guy n.n Next I'm suposed to meet my ex too give him important papers, he doesn't show up or message me, i waited over an hr. And he was a dick about it. So i go home and cook dinner, and who shows up? While I'm making dinner for my lovelys. Shit face, so i give him his paper, and he sees my son, and the only thing he says id, " hi jack" and that's it. Hasn't see him in over 5 months. What a piece of shit. I was nervous and zach seeing him,but then i wanted to punch the ass hole. Im so done with this trash, and it feels good finally. My baby treats me right, and i adore him. The thing i dislike most about zach is like every ex he's ever had is got this weird affinity with being like this imperfect Angel. Some times he tells me the same, that im some type of angel he doesn't know why I'm so good to him. Bitch i ain't no damn Angel, #1 im not religious,#2 if anything I'm a freakin demon and i will ruin people. Im kind but im not hiding behind a mask of something pure and godly. I know im bad, i know i come from a dark pit. Im not hiding it, but it doesnt mean i can't be kind, or loving, or be what he needs. I think i saw a ded guy at Wal-Mart to. Straight up the ambulance came and people where standing over this guy laying on the pavement, he wasn't moving. And no body was down there assisting him, i think he was seriously dead. I had a lovely time with my incredible bf this new years, this year is gonna be my yr. Its gonna be our year! We kissed at midnight, blew up fire works, shot fire works at my bf, had the parties, had the drinks, made the love, Did the cuddles, has a fancy- ish dinner, had fun with the kiddos. Got fussy. It was spectacular. n.n Now since tax season is apon us, gotta look for a bigger apt now. Im excited. Also this means we get to start planning for akon! Bestest anime convention in Texas, yo. Cosplay baby!!! Wooooo!!! So much stuff going on, gonna try to go back to school, yeah!- Gotta get a new car. I love having a life, i love planning stuff, packing to, doing stuff. Yesssss So this was a pretty good rant??? Strange the next one will probably be bad, lol. Jk. -samm

Rant pt 6.

Woo haven't ranted in a while. Not alot to complain about around this time of yr. Im generally very happy. Im actully in a laundry matt right now, and i see these people with all these nice things, expensive purses nice phones, wtf yall at a laundry matt???? That damn micheal kors purse is like 300$ i hate it when people are un greatful. Only because these fools are up in here acting like they own the place being petty over who can use the washer. It's almost xmas, 6 more days i think. Got mostly every one what they wanted. Bought myself a new purse, some shoes and an outfit, cause no body ever gets me anything. Lol. I spent all my monies so every one could be happy, typical Sam. Is it bad i only got my bf a few things knowing he wasn't getting me anything. I usually splurg on my partner, but i think I've grown alittle wiser. I got him some mlp stuff. A rainbow dash brony tee and that goofy mug that says," keep calm, and brony on" since he loves coffee. I think it's fitting for a first xmas together. Ehh i aplogized to my bro ans his wife, that was awhile ago, and they haven't messsged me back. I guess it will just take time, but im done with it. I cant make people like me, and im not picking sides. So thats that. Sho that's all for now, well see how xmas goes. Happy yule to you.

What’s Next for Steam Powered Giraffe in 2017?

Howdy musical automaton enthusiasts! After wrapping up our last live show of the year in Bakersfield, California this past weekend, the band sees 2016 come to a close. We had a thoroughly enjoyable year full of concerts, conventions, music videos, and even a new album release. Our fans have truly humbled us this year, and we love seeing familiar faces, meeting new fans at our shows, and of course are always thankful for the love and support sent to us through email, fan mail, and our social streams! Now that our last show for the year is over, we feel the time is right to make a very big announcement for 2017.

Samuel Luke, who plays the beloved mustachioed robot “Hatchworth,” is departing the band to pursue his own artistic endeavors. Sam approached the band a while ago about wanting to focus on his own personal art projects, but he wanted to stay on as a member until a suitable replacement for him could be found. Sam joined the band in 2011 as a drummer to work with the band as they performed at the San Diego Zoo from 2011 to 2012; after which he became a lead robot performer after Jon Sprague’s departure in 2012. It’s been a fantastic ride with Sam and we’ve accomplished much together in the last six years. It has taken quite a lot of time, but Isabella Bennett (Rabbit), David Bennett (The Spine), and Samuel Luke (Hatchworth) have found a replacement and have been training him for his debut.

Please welcome Mr. Bryan Barbarin and his robot character “Zero” to Steam Powered Giraffe! Bryan is a friend of the Bennetts from their college days, well versed in musical theater, mime, acting, and a plethora of other talents. He even has his own band called ‘The Routine’ that he sings lead vocals in (http://www.theroutineband.com/#theroutine). Isabella, David, and Bryan had an improv troupe in college together, performed in college theater productions, and did a touring children’s show under the direction of Jerry Hager (Kazoo the Mime of Seaport Village fame). Now Bryan joins the Bennetts on stage as the robot Zero, alongside ballet dancers/Walter Workers Chelsea and Camille Penyak, and the band’s sound engineer Steve Negrete. Sam’s departure is bittersweet for the band and many fans. No one can replace what he brought to the act with his character Hatchworth, but of course we wish him well in his artistic endeavors! There is an excitement in the air having a new performer on stage, and we’re sure you’ll fall in love with Bryan, Zero, and the next iteration of the act as we continue into the new year. However, we have a special holiday present for you to hint at things to come, and to wrap up 2016: A brand new song and music video featuring the newest member of Steam Powered Giraffe, Bryan Barbarin as Zero the robot!

That’s right! All of the robots together for one special podcast! I’ve learned a lot from my time with Steam Powered Giraffe (an informal college education if you will) and it all takes a lot of time and energy. Of course it’s going to be risky for me but that risk is only on me. The risk is even greater for a character-centric act to replace a well-liked (hopefully) character, but all of us at Steam Powered Giraffe really feel that you’re going to like Bryan and Zero. So look at it this way: SPG’s family is growing. We’ve got a new member of the family and baby Sam has graduated big boy school and is off to smash his art and his music into your eyes and ears. What is Mercury Retrograde you ask?

All of the planets move in the same direction around the Sun, each with a different rate of speed.  Mercury’s orbit is 88 days long; therefore approximately 4 orbits of Mercury around the Sun equals 1 Earth year.

Mercury appears to slow down, then stop, (stationary retrograde) and then move slowly backwards for several weeks (retrograde).  Eventually, it appears to stop again and reverse direction (stationary direct) moving slowly forward once again (direct). Eventually Mercury appears to return to its normal orbital speed.(Mercury isn’t really going backwards, it’s just hanging out by the sun, but from Earth, that makes it look like it’s in reverse) There are three Mercury Retrograde periods each year, each lasting approximately 3 weeks.

As Mercury rules communication, clear thinking, truth & travel, during the time of retrograde it is advised that you don’t make any new beginnings or projects etc. This time period is perfect for:

❤ Reviewing and revising plans

Evaluate how well you've achieved your goals and what things you’d still love to bring into your life.Mercury Retrograde marks a period of Mercury “slowing down,” which means our requests and longings can find more potent expression into the universe. This is a terrific time to ponder intentions.

❤  Finish up any old, lingering projects.

You might not want to submit, release, or publish them during this time, but old projects can benefit from a fresh look. Mercury also helps with creativity, making Mercury Retrograde an ideal time to edit or revise.

❤ Rejuvenate your living space!

Clean out your closet, organize your wardrobe, get rid of clutter, even do a little Feng Shui to your home. That Retrograde energy amplifies your ability to process through old things.

❤ Relax & take care of yourself

Enjoy some solitude or time away. Read a book, take a walk in nature, have plenty of sleep, stay hydrated & do a lot of stretching. This especially applies during Mercury retrograde. Even book a spa day. Go on Treat yourself!!

❤ Back up data

Have patience with your electronics. They’re trying their best. If your phones, computer, email, cell phone or internet act up, take a deep breath and ask yourself if you really need to push things right now. Pushing usually makes things worse, especially during a Mercury Retrograde.

So even though to many people the Mercury Retrograde is something they dread, make this the perfect time to just kick back and relax from everything. Use the Retrograde to your advantage!!
