With the help of some lovely moots I've put together a rec list of future classic Pedro character fanfics. You know those fics that you read ages ago, but you think about every so often even years after you read them? These are some WIPs or recently finished fanfics that are sure to become Classics. š«
I've divided them by character. If you read any of these please like/kudos and Comment! That's the best way to help turn these WIP into the classics they will one day become (and maybe even get a sequel or twoš) It's hard to tell if it's a real person or a bot in a hit count these days so interaction is the only gauge to go by for writers. If you don't know what to say you can just tell them "This feels like a future classic!š" - You can even copy paste that.
We're starting with Din in honour of this being Mandalorian and Grogu month ...
Din Djarin
An Unexpected Meeting by @keeshya6 -A long running WIP and personal favourite of mine. A princess saves Din's life and then Din returns the favour... unfortunately for both of them it comes with strings (or chain codes) attached and reader becomes Din's slave. They navigate their feelings and power dynamics, as well as raising a tiny green baby together. Also, reader is a badass.
Teenage Dirtbag, Baby by @awkwardpaws - Move over Dawson's Creek there's a new Angsty teenage love triangle in town. And it's an early 2000's Earth!Din AU. With Din/Paz/Bo and other familiar aspects of the Mandalorian universe brought right down to earth. It's a prequel to the recently completed (and excellent) Din/Cobb fic Falling Slowly.
Country Roads by @itsjuststardust - Din isn't in Navarro anymore but he might be in ...Kansas? Din is dropped on a nurses truck by a tornado in middle America. Reader can't quiet believe he's an alien with a little green baby, but she takes them in anyway. (I mean who wouldn't?).
Losing My Religion by @oonajaeadira - Set post season 2, a Mandalorian comes looking for F!Jedi/Healer Reader with an assignment from an old friend, sending you on a mission and a union that you both need. It's soft, it's tender, the world building and the characters are so well written. I loved losing myself into that story.
Payment by @annwrites24 - Raised as a servant to reader's half-sister on her home planet of Nharia, she find herself married to the king of an ancient warrior race, who happens to be a reluctantly wed Din Djarin. Their union is set to keep the peace between their two peoples. Could this arranged political marriage ever be anything more than loveless treaty?
Javier PeƱa
Inertia by @half-moon16 - Javier and F!Reader work together at the DEA, there's tension there, the question is who will set thing into motion and cross the line between co-workers.
Crosshairs by @rosharanfiction - There's something about Jacksonās newest resident that gets under Joelās skin. Itās not just Javier PeƱaās cocky attitude that Joel canāt stand - itās his tight pants and his too-smooth voice, and especially the way heās sleeping with half of Jackson. Its a Javier PeƱa x Joel Miller (so you know you're gonna get 2 things, grumpiness and hotness)
Haunted by @cozymochaa- Javier is sent for undercover work to take down the cartel. He finds his in with the drug lord's secret daughter, but quickly learns that Reader nothing like your father. The lines between his job and his desire to protect her start to blur, forcing him to make a difficult decision.
Life with Javier PeƱa by @pascalispunkczechia. Written in the form of journal entries from Javierās point of view. It's a collection of beautiful little slice of life moment between Javier and his wife.
Somewhere Only We Know by @milla-frenchy : Friends to lovers between Javier and Reader it's story about two people who are very dear to each other, but too scared to turn their friendship into something else. They search for each other in other people and places until fate brings them back together at the right time
Ezra
I don't have any Ezra multi chapter WIPs to rec... but do I have one coming š. For now I'm going to Rec a lovely little one shot that came out recently.
Little Dove by @bergamote-catsandbooks - Ezra and Cee make it off the green, but Ezra is hurt and feverish. He reflects on his past choices as Cee tries to keep him awake. (I tired to get them to make it a series, but alas some things are perfect as they are... short and sweet.)
Frankie Morales
More Than Letters- (@almostfoxglove)- A love story about pen pals that somehow lost their way. Filled with angst, miscommunication, lost presents, yearning, heartbreak and hopefully a happy ending.
The Boyfriend Act by @capuccinodoll - Frankie x f!reader - A beautifully Frankie story. Santiago's sister and Frankie Morales have never gotten along, but faced with an ex's wedding and a big overly involved family the two make a deal to pretend to be together, which should work... so long as they don't kill each other first...
Small Things of a Whole by @sawymredfox
Beautifully written snippets of a tender relationship between Benny and Frankie.
The Devil's Pilot by @vodkaandpizza (shameless self-recš) - Ex-addict Frankie Morales is doing his best to be a good father to his daughter. On the straight and narrow and out of the military he gets a job flying a helicopter for the San Antonio DEA. As a result he meets a smart-mouthed, fast-talking investigative reporter who also happens to be the step-daughter of legendary DEA Agent Javier PeƱa
... What could possibly go wrong?
Clint Flood
(guys we need more muti chapter clint fics!)
Somebody Else by @rosharanfiction - Reader is a waitress at a diner by day and a call girl by night. The regular she's been crushing on, a lonely single dad named Clint books his regular waitress for the night in an attempt to get used to intimacy again since the tragic loss of his wife.
(It's completed, and a one-shot, but the author might be making another part -or is that wishful thinking- and it's my favourite Clint fic so it counts ok?)
The Man and the Moon by @vodkaandpizza - Clint finds himself in a tiny northern Canadian harbour and gets a job as a cook in the harbour marina's restaurant. When autumn comes and the seasonal resident leave for the city a mysterious woman shows up on a beach across the from the marina. Clint sees her every night as the seasons change he gets to know her and the rest of the locals a whole lot better.
Marcus Acacius
The General by @juletheghoul - Marcus Acacius x f!reader - It's hot and steamy, and then they start having feelings and I also have feelings and I love them and want to be with them.

This Never Happened by @rosharanfiction - Modern AU - Reader hooks up with a man -with great hair - in a bar right before she starts her new job as an attorney for a real estate developer. Which would have been fine if that man didn't turn out to be her new boss...
Pero Tovar
Fate Unbound by @avastrasposts - Pero is a thrall during the 12th century Viking era. He makes a pact with the daughter of his captor, turning foes into unlikely allies. It's beautifully written and has great historical elements. Her Pero is excellent as well.
Harry Castillo
The Ex Education by @missadangel - Reader married Harry when they were young. They and in the same weathy circles in New York. When it didn't work out reader left the city to heal. Years later her Family's fallen hard times which land reader working for her Ex husband... what could go wrong...

Not sure why it's a new trend among fic readers to assume if the fic has not been posted within the week it's inappropriate to comment on it, like the fic has to be hot out of the oven to give feedback for.
I got a comment on a fic that is less than a year old and it was mostly an apology for being a comment on an "old fic" and how late they were in commenting.
Just comment on the fic. Doesn't matter how old it is.
āI'm accepting both regular and NSFW requests. If you want a drawing of your OCs, fictional characters, or self-inserts, I'd love to bring your ideas to life! ⨠(any character/fandom)

Totally agreed! Gio is amazingly easy to work with and her art is fantastic! I've fallen in love with both pieces she's done for me and looking forward to the next one so much! Highly recommend!
Fanfic is a great way to practice self-indulgence while writing. It doesnāt even have to be good, it just exists purely for your pleasure, be a little freak about it. Worry about quality and what other people think when it comes to works you intend to publish in a formal setting
How do people write to such a high word count, I max out at 700-1500 before giving up. I would love to learn but every resource I find assumes I have entry-level knowledge ( I don't. )
word count tips from a guy who has over 2 million words on ao3
- first of all, youāre doing great. 700-1,500 words is a lot more than you are giving yourself credit for. i can write 1,500 in an hour and a half on a good day. thatās a lot of time!! especially for someone who has other priorities in life other than fanfic.
- writing stamina is real and is an actual āmuscleā that does grow and strengthen with repetition as time. itās something you can expand and build with practice.
- donāt get too wrapped up in perfection. get words on the page and donāt get in your head about if theyāre the right ones. you can fix garbage but you canāt fix nothing.
- write what excites you. i know nonlinear writing is sacrilege to some people so this may not work for you, but for me personally if i get stuck, i just jump to something i want to write. sometimes that means writing out only dialogue that i add to later. sometimes it means several paragraphs of world building. youāll be surprised about how much you end up writing if you donāt adhere to the structure rules and add stuff later.
- donāt feel pressured to write it all at once. most of the greatest novels were written over the course of months, even years. sure, there are authors that can crank out 10k in a day (iāve done it - itās killer and i was exhausted after) but having realistic goals can help.
- to add to that, setting achievable goals is also important. donāt shoot for the stars just yet or else you may find yourself feeling disappointed. give yourself small checkpoints that you can have mini rewards for.
- when it comes to brainstorming and outlining, i find making a list of plot points and character beats with no specific order that i then organize later into a sequential outline is helpful. outlines are another way to have a tangible proof of your progress
- donāt burn yourself out on one project. breaks are important and so is nourishing your mind
its 1am so thats all from me for now! hope this helped
two things that can and should coexist: writing fanfiction for yourself as a form of self-care slash comfort and appreciating kind comments given by your readers, as well as using these encouraging comments as a source of motivation to write more fics
i think because of the whole "writers write for themselves" notion that's becoming increasingly popularized, people forget that we still thrive off interaction and kindness. i write for myself but kudos and comments and bookmarks and really any sort of interaction with my fics genuinely motivates me to keep writing and keep sharing my works.
listen i may take 4 weeks to write a 3k word chapter, and i may take 45 minutes to decide whether i should use ālaughā or āchuckleā, but at least i donāt use ai and whatever youāre getting is pure chaos from a human brain
There was a time when you wouldn't have dared imagine Joel and you laying together on the hill. There was a world where the closest you'd ever get to a soft moment outdoors would have been shooting practice. But this world had been merciful, for once.
On the same hill where he'd taught you how to use the rifle, you were reading in a clover patch with Bullet when Joel came out back. He lifted his white tank up to wipe his face, exposing his happy trail and strong trunk. He didn't ask you to come in, didn't lift up your dress. He sat down next to you.
āGround's cool over here,ā he mumbled, pressing his palm into the lush greenery.
āIt's the clovers,ā you said. āI dunno why they're cooler...ā You laid on your back and carded your fingers into the clovers- huge, round leaves overlapping each other.
He did the same with his hand, then moved it closer to yours and hooked his pinky over yours. After a stretch of silence, he said, āYouāre a real smart girl, sweet pea⦠Smarter than me,ā he chuckled.
Your heart swelled, and you whispered, āthanks.ā
āKnow a lotta things aboutā¦.what it's like out hereā¦ā
āYou think?ā you asked excitedly. Joel was the survivalist. You always thought of him as the knowledgeable one. It felt like he knew how to do everything.
āOh, yeah,ā he affirmed, then laid down with the clovers cool against the back of his sweat-soaked tank. āClovers, mushrooms, lettuce⦠all kinds'a stuff." His pinky tugged at yours. āC'mere,ā he whispered.
You rolled toward him and he rolled toward you, pulled you close. With your head resting on his bicep, he caged a leg over yours and rested his hand on your side. āYeah,ā he repeated. āLotta stuff.ā
āYou know a lot too,ā you said. āSo much about everythingā¦ā
āI mean it, sweet pea. I'm proud'a you.ā
It wasn't funny, but it made you want to laugh. You rubbed your lips together at the unfamiliar rush of joy.
āWhat,ā he asked with a laugh in his voice.
āNothing,ā you replied and bit your lip, feeling your cheeks grow warm. His thumb came to your mouth and you released your bottom lip from under your teeth.
āPretty girl,ā he whispered and thumbed your lip. Then his big hand cradled your neck and the base of your skull as his face approached. Your breath hitched, then his mouth pressed into yours. His lips were plush and longing. He rolled toward you as his lips cradled yours, then nudged them apart. He breathed through his nose as his tongue slid into the warm refuge of your mouth. He kissed you long and hard, with his breath becoming greedy. He nearly sucked the air out of your lungs, and you would have let him keep it. But he calmed himself down, softened his lips, and broke away.
His eyes darted back and forth between yours, in a different way from whenever he read your face. He was saying something in the silence. The deep brown of his irises held a message for your heart: that his heart was yours; that every time he thought about it, it overwhelmed him.
It felt wrong to try to wrap it all up in the same words he'd said so many times before the world ended. He knew what you wanted to hear, and he wanted you to have that, he did, but his tongue wouldn't let him reach back through time. Those words were forever echoing in a tragic moment that was buried so deep he couldn't see it. He wasn't allowed to - it almost killed him once. The words were stuck somewhere he couldn't retrieve them.
He wanted to give you something that fit just right, something as unique as the bond between you, but language was never his strength to begin with.
His lips parted, and his face softened, becoming more serious at the same time. Your eyes weakened with hope, and his affection penetrated you. For a moment, you felt his damage so clearly - the way he'd hurt so many people, none worse than himself. You felt the weight of his banged up heart in your hands, then pressed your hand to his chest and felt it beating. āIt's okay,ā you whispered.
He offered a barely perceptible nod.
Your hand slid up his chest and around his neck, then up the back of his head. You ran your hand through his hair, admiring every mark on his handsome face, comforting him with your nails on his scalp. Then you pulled him down for another kiss.

Thank you for reading
Happy birthday @milla-frenchy š¤ I love you so much!
fanfiction is getting less interaction, people barely reblog anymore, role players are getting pushed out of fandom, ai generated slop winning art contests
So much has happened... Fans who used to interact about the Character started chatting with "him" instead of other fans, cranking it to "his" chats instead of smut, even making our fics into AI bots without permission. Writers and artists got demoralized when AI fics and art got more attention than theirs. The instant turnaround of AI made users more demanding of real creators. At the same time, "conservative" propaganda got to young adults. Rise in kink shaming and infighting about woke. Everything Problematic. Tumblr skeleton crew didn't enforce rules, emboldening bullies. Some spaces became dystopian ghost towns. Lurking became normal. It's wild how many *new* followers haven't posted/reblogged anything since 2023-2024.
i genuinely think that any reader of fanfiction should write and post something once. not just because it would really illustrate to them the amount of work it takes and how terrifying it can be to bare yourself to the internet and how disheartening a lack of interaction can be, but also how fun and exhilarating it is. how amazing some kudos or a single comment can make you feel for weeks. this account is for being mean, yes, but i cannot stress how consistent and wonderful a hobby writing fic has been for me since i was a young teen.
then you keep on writing or you give up. idk what to tell you, iāve had anons that i blocked hunt down niche side blogs of mine to tell me, in detail, just how much they hate my writing. and thatās part of the risk of baring yourself to the public. and it fucking sucks. but thatās what every single person who posts fic or fanart or edits or whatever fandom content you enjoy risks every time they do, because thereās always going to be someone out there who thinks it sucks. i still think the risk is worth it, when it can open you up to a level of connection with your online peers that youāve never experienced before. but thatās just me.
I love it when fan fiction writers are like: āah shit, this was meant to be one part but I started writing it and now it has to be threeā. Like the fanfic is happening to them and not being created by them.
Big reminder, folks, that many people, especially veteran writers, are locking their fics nowadays, which means if you don't have an account, you can't see the full library of AO3 and are missing out on a lot of good work. Please go sign up for an account! It's well worth it, and you are missing out on a LOT by not having it.
So, the other day, when I was discussing AO3's policy on solicitation, a tumblr user came at me saying that AO3's "no monetization/solicitation" rules were "bullshit" because nexus mods allows fan created mods to get paid.
Look at me.
Look at me right now.
AO3 protects you.
AO3 protects you and your works.Ā
It protects your works from copyright strikes and DCMA takedowns.
It protects your work from advertisers.
It protects your work from overzealous legal challenges.
It protects your right to post adult content.
AO3 is non-profit and AO3 will never try to use you or your work to make a profit for themselves and AO3 will go to bat for you if someone tries to legally challenge you or your works.
Mastercard has no reason to mess with AO3. Visa doesn't. PayPal doesn't. Stripe doesn't. There's no compensation-for-porn exchange happening. By design. BY DESIGN.
AO3's founders knew that AO3 needed to be set up to protect us from any and all avenues of attack on fanworks. They've managed it quite successfully.
All y'all who thought they didn't need to? Sit the fuck down and SHUT THE FUCK UP.
Creating characters is fun until they start making decisions without your permission. You sit down to write a quiet breakfast scene and suddenly theyāre confessing childhood trauma, or worse, falling in love with the wrong person. Youāre supposed to be the god of this story, but really youāre just the exhausted babysitter of a bunch of fictional anarchists.
