𖤓 chronically procrastinating the writing of my book though… someone take ao3 away from me (also the adhd gets in the way…)

𖤓 i mostly write skyward and cytoverse fanfictions but i am starting to branch out in different fandoms! recently posted my first mistborn and kpdh fanfics, and hopefully will post many more in the future!

the best fanfiction you've ever read was written by a woman in her 40s before she made dinner for her kids. it was written by a teenager after school when they should've been studying for a history test. and a barista came up with the idea while they cleaned the espresso machine and busser fact-checked it on their break and the post-doc edited between writing grant proposals and the nurse apologized for typos in the notes after a long shift and behind every drabble and one-shot and multi-chapter fic there is a person with a wonderful and interesting and chaotic life and it is such a privilege that we get to be apart of it because they decided to do this thing we all share, for fun.

sometimes i’m having an ok day and then i remember the ending of mistborn era 1 and my day goes from “ok” to “completely and hopelessly ruined”

AAAAAND we wrote another 600 words today!! again hadn’t written since that one time a month ago when i posted about it lol

BUT exciting news is that i think the next chapter to my fic is almost done!! it will be the first time i post in over 6 months oh my days

aaaah how do i go to work for 10+ hours per day 6 days a week, study for work, do research (for work still), do life things, maintain relationships and also actually function as a person and also keep my hobbies and write/read/scrapbook?? and ALSO go to the gym 4 times a week??

i hate feeling guilty for taking a break from work omg like yeah to my stupid brain working 60 hours a week is not enough

the good news is that i have found motivation to finish my fic

the bad news is to do so i have to go back and re-read my last few chapters because i don’t remember what happened and where we left off…

i can already feel myself cringing.

SEE it’s good i’m re-reading it because i had completely forgotten one of my major characters was shot in the leg 💀 imagine me writing in the next chapter “he sprinted” or something like that girl-

we’ve finally got a sort-of-outline for the end of my fic!!

the first time i’ve done any work on my fic since december!!

i still need to figure out some details but the gist is there!!

my toxic trait is thinking starting a new writing project will magically help me finish my current wips because it will cure my writer’s block when in fact all it does is add more wips to my plate which i can’t finish which then means i have to start a new project again… and the cycle repeats.
