Because these three still make me smile, the most aptly captured portraits I’ve ever had taken. @note-of-poetics - did the pressing the buttons and aiming the things and making sure the smile kinda stuck and coffee.
It is not my past but my present that plagues me.

Kindred - The Eternal Hunters
I'm sorry if when you compliment me, I ignore it, or pull a face or say something to change the subject. I don't love me yet, but I'm working on it, one day I hope to look you dead in the eye and grin while saying something along the lines of "Don't I know it"
Musings from Alice’s Teaparty
I have a bone to pick with the world.
I dislike slurs and insults, in fact I might go so far as to say I hate them.
When people use words that intentionally wound others, whether those people can hear them or not, it sets my teeth on edge and raises in me an irrational urge to defend them to my dying breath. Who are we to judge someone else on their appearance or actions, who is anyone to say that someone else is not as good, as worthwhile as themselves?
There may be people of whom you do not approve, yes, that is fine, but instead they need constructive criticism if you speak up at all, are they a close friend or family member? Then by all means, approach them about what is bothering you and talk to them humanely, not ripping little pieces out of them so that they feel they are less than what they are.
Everyone seems to do it, flinging words around like no one will be affected by them. Some people it may not bother, but to others, words like that can begin to define them, there are only so many times someone can hear themselves referred to as 'Stupid' or 'Retarded' before they start to believe it themselves.
We have a responsibility not just to our loved ones but also to ourselves to wield words in a way that helps not hinders.
We all share this earth. Do it in harmony, without making someone else feel insignificant just because it gives you a small boost to feel above someone, if even for a moment.
Words are tools, not weapons, become a wordsmith, not a hatemonger.
EnCounter - Wearable Interactive Quest
Sometimes you feel like you’re in your own little world. And with EnCounter - Wearable Interactive Quest, you can be. Messages like “daily activity goal reached” or “Congratulations. You moved 10,497 steps” just don’t motivate us, so we developed our wearable technology - EnCounter, a Wearable Interactive Quest. You strap the kit’s bracer to your wrist, and it begins to track your movements. And with a tri-axis accelerometer and gyroscope, GPS, digital compass, and an optical heart-rate monitor, it constantly communicates your physical status back to the free downloadable app (available for iOS and Android) via Bluetooth®. When you’re ready for an adventure, just start moving, and the bracer will respond accordingly. Pop the earpiece in to hear a dramatic description real time. Ascending stairs? We know you can make it up to the crow’s nest on the pirate ship if you just keep climbing. Briskly walking? Perhaps you’re hacking through the wilderness to the legendary Keep on the Borderlands. Keep an eye out for those random encounters, which your EnCounter may throw in if it thinks you could some interval training. And be ready to roll at any time! Inside the app itself, you can fill out your Character Sheet, letting your EnCounter know whether it should be training you to be the party’s tank or making sure you magic users catch up on your sleep to recharge your mana. Oh, and when we say “party,” we mean it. Link up to your friends inside the app, and you can take on challenges as a team, even when your gaming group is scattered across the country or the world.
Okay this is super cute.
I’d rather be with another dreamer and burn to a crisp in a blaze of glory everyone will be talking about.
But this is sweet...
The reason I'm largely fearless is because I made my nightmares my playground as a child. The only nightmares that truly terrify me now are those of people, because I know I should fear humanity.
