I finally listened to the album. And.. I've already said this but.. listening to day6 is like going home. Finally being in a familiar and comfortable environment. And this album is like.. we've all been away for a while, doing our own things the last few months. They were intense. Sometimes hard. But now they're here. We're here. We're all together. And we can party together. And dance. Have fun. Scream and sing. I can already see mydays going crazy on those songs at shows, I can see Jae and Young K running around the stage, Sungjin dancing, Wonpil playing the keyboard like crazy, Dowoon singing and making everyone go wild.. I want to live this album live. I want to scream those lyrics at the top of my lungs. I want to sing them with day6. I want to dance on those rhythm, on those beats. I want to have the time of my life, pun intended. I knew they would not disappoint. But I really feel like this one is special. Have you seen their smile in that music video? Have you read those interviews and the things they said about it? Am I the only one who feels like they've never been more proud of an album they released? I hope I'm right. I hope they're proud. Of them. Of mydays. Of the big family we all are. I hope they know how much we love it. How much we love them... This album feels like an old friend already and I love it.
a/n: I am so sorry to all of those who waited for an update. But I literally had no motivation and I didn’t want the result to be something half-hearted. I hope you like the new chapter!
Chapter 3
“Hey Y/N!” Mina waved from across the green. Since it was weekend, the three of you decided to make a picnic at the Han River. It was a great idea to take your mind out of school and all the other crazy things that happened lately.
The temperatures were getting warmer and it was a nice summer day in June. The perfect day to finally wear your favorite dress again.
Your best friend and her boyfriend were sitting on a large blanket and had already outspread the food they made.
You happily waved back and hurried to get to their spot. “Hey guys! I’m so glad you made it today!” Mina stood up to greet you properly and Minhyuk followed her example. You hugged both of them overly excited.
“Did you wait long?” You asked. Minhyuk smiled at you. “The food is still here so probably not.” You laughed relieved. Sitting down on the blanket besides Minhyuk you got the food from your bag.
You spent the next 2 hours talking about everything that came to mind. But despite all the fun you, Mina and Minhyuk had it felt somehow incomplete. There was something missing. Something important you couldn’t describe.
Just as the weird feeling you have had before came back you noticed a man standing at a bench not far from you. He was wearing a long coat and his features were awful familiar to you. The coat, the way he walked and his radiance. You had definitely seen them before.
You narrowed your eyes to slits and tried to identify his face but without success. Mina must have seen you because she looked at you wondering.
“You alright?” She looked around to find what you were staring at so intensely.
You snapped out of your trance and nodded absently. “Hmm… yeah…”
“You are kind of weird lately, Y/N. Did something happen? You know you can talk to me about anything.”
“No. Everything is fine. Really.” You said, slightly laughing to hide your lie. For a moment you were contemplating whether to tell her about the stranger watching you or not. “… University has been a pain in the ass lately.”
Mina seemed satisfied with your answer so you sighed relieved and grabbed a slice of kimbap from one of the containers.
Mid-eating your sight wandered back to the bench where the man stood earlier. He didn’t move a bit and remained at the exact same spot like before. But it seemed different. He was talking on the phone with someone and while talking he was staring at you.
Maybe you just imagined it but it felt like he was slightly getting anxious. He seemed to scan the park searching for someone or something. His gaze landed on you, becoming aware that you were watching him. He quickly looked away and hid his face under his cap.
Then Minhyuk spoke up, interrupting your staring contest.“Ah! Before I forget to mention it. Wonho is planing on doing his birthday party tomorrow. He invited all three of us.”
Wonho was a good friend of Minhyuk’s and also a music major like Mina and you. He was a nice guy and you two got along pretty well. You saw him almost every day as he was having almost the same classes as you did.
Mina seemed really excited. “What do you think Y/N? You gonna come?” You smiled.
“Of course!” Wonho’s parties were quite infamous around campus and some distraction wouldn’t hurt you. Mina looked happy with your answer and you grinned.
Then your thoughts went back to the man watching you. After scanning the park with his eyes he found what he looked for and got unstuck from his frozen spot in front of the bench. His feet lead towards you and your friends.
His determined steps lead him in your direction. This was making you slightly nervous and you started to brave yourself for any attack he eventually was going to launch. The moment he was close enough for you to see his face he suddenly turned left and started walking even faster than he was before.
You sighed relieved, happy that you didn’t have to defend yourself from a stranger who was definitely stronger than you. You kept following him with your eyes.
He was on the merge of running as he reached another man standing under the shadow of a big tree. They seemed to know each other and talked for a bit. They glanced once in a while in your direction as if they were talking about you.
You tried your best not to be suspicious watching them and started to contribute something to Minhyuk and Mina’s conversation.
The next time you glanced over they started walking towards the river. On their way they passed a big oak tree. You expected them to appear again after passing the visual obstacle but that never happened. They just vanished.
You were going completely crazy now, weren’t you? Was your mind playing games with you? Once in a while your sight went back to the tree. Maybe they just stopped behind it and talked for a little longer. Waiting for you to go home and stalk you again, or anything like that.
Or maybe you just missed the time they left.
Trying to forget the incident you immerged yourself deeper into the conversation of your friends. They were choosing a birthday present for Wonho and that could take longer than expected.
But somehow it bothered you for the entire afternoon. As you decided to pack your things and go separate ways for the day you still couldn’t think of anything else. After saying goodbye to both of them you made up your mind to at least check the tree they both ‘vanished’ behind. Maybe they dropped something or left some kind of trace that would give you the evidence of not being entirely insane.
You searched the grass for something to give you some kind of hint or anything. Crawling on the ground for about 10 minutes you already wanted to give up. You sat down, leaning against the trunk. Exhausted from looking for any evidence, you decided to take a break.
It was nice watching couples driving their bicycles along the river, dogs playing together and people having a beautiful day. Suddenly a butterfly grabbed your attention. It was sitting on a daisy flapping with its wings. You observed it carefully and that’s when you noticed something dazzling your eyes. Frowning you reach for the spot and picked up a small pendant.
Weighing it in your palm you examined it closely. It was a golden pendant in the form of a star, rather flat and the front and back were sealed with glass. The hollow between the pendant was filled with a silvery mist that swirled inside its container. The jewelry itself wasn’t bigger than the nail of your thumb but it felt really heavy in your palm. But the heaviness wasn’t the only surprising thing, what was more unexpected was the familiarity that came with it.
This was definitely the kind of evidence you were looking for. At least it stopped yourself questioning your own sanity.
You were deep in your thoughts on the way back home and kept thinking about the strange events today and the days before.
Nowhere near did you know that this day was going to get even stranger.
The following day felt like torture. You couldn't concentrate in class and your thoughts always went back to what happened yesterday night.
After cleaning up the mess you made in the kitchen, you fell asleep on the couch. Three hours later you woke up having an extreme migraine and a really dry throat. Despite your short 'nap' you felt like your energy was more drained than before.
“Hey! Hey!” Mina was waving her hand in front of your face. You snapped out of your thoughts and got back into reality. You were still sitting in class next to Mina. The professor in the front was narrating something about the harmony in Beethoven's Fifth and most of the class was not paying attention.
“Are you even listening?”, Mina whispered, “You look even worse than yesterday... Did something happen?” You shook your head. “No, it's nothing. Just too many thoughts floating in my mind”. For some unknown reason you didn't want to tell Mina about the stranger following you. Maybe you didn't want her to be worried or thinking you were crazy.
“Your dark circles don't look like nothing.” Mina frowned sceptical. “They are darker than my soul.” Mina's comment made you smile a bit. The moment you started to say something your professor interrupted you.
“And with this I'm going to end class today. Please remember to hand in your term paper by next Friday.” Shit. You totally forgot about that. You buried your face in your hands and cried playfully. “Why does it always have to be me.... Did I do something horrible in my last life? Do I have to pay for that now?” You gave her an incomprehensible look. Mina just laughed.
“Do you work tonight?”, you asked while walking out of the lecture hall. Mina nodded her head. “I'm taking over from you, so we're meeting again tonight. I'm going to spend the night at Minhyuk's.”
You smiled brightly. “That's good to hear! Well then.. See you tonight!” You hugged Mina and both of you parted in different directions.
Work wasn't any better. It was even worse than the whole day so far. Your original friendly demeanor turned irritable and stressed. And as if it wasn't already enough, you also made a lot of mistakes. Laying products into the wrong spots, giving to much change and dropping bottles on the ground.
While you tried wiping up the mess you noticed a customer standing at the register. You slowly stood up and walked over to him. It was an old man with a grumpy face and he didn't look like he could take a joke.
He was waiting impatiently, tapping his finger onto the board. You slowly took his goods to cash them up and began typing them in. “Can you go even slower?” he asked ironically. You looked irritated at him. “I'm sorry?”
“You know exactly what I said. What about going a little bit faster? I don't have all day!” The old man was getting really rude and angry. “It's always the same with these kids these days.. They're not polite, unbehaved and think they're the greatest. And you young lady are no exception.”
You thought you heard wrong. Was he really that cocky to snap at you? You put your hands defensive in front of you and wanted to talk back to him to get all your frustration out.
“Excuse me! -”
Suddenly something changed in your vision. Everything got blurry and it was like you had a blackout. After some seconds you had a clear vision again.
You still stood behind the counter but there was something odd. The old man wasn't in front of you anymore, like he vanished into thin air. The next moment the bell on the door rung to signify someone stepping into the store.
The old man who yelled at you just a minute ago was walking inside. You blinked a few times to process what just happened and followed his steps with your eyes. He nodded shortly to greet you and continued searching for his goods.
Something wasn't right. You felt misplaced, like something wasn't in the right order. And then this strange feeling came back. The one you had yesterday.
You remembered the bottles you dropped earlier and curiosity made you look into the aisle. To your surprise they were still standing there untouched. Like literally untouched. They weren't shattered on the floor nor did someone move them. You frowned as you walked back to your spot at the counter.
As the man came up to you, you braced yourself in case he wanted to start a fight again. You were totally ready to snap back but to your surprise he remained still. You decided to cash him up very quickly and without any mistakes. Moments later he was gone without a word.
I'm going crazy... Right? Did that really just happen again?
The rest of you shift you dwelt in thoughts. Your brain just couldn't perceive the recent events and you felt like a lunatic.
On your way home your thoughts were so far away that you didn't even notice someone following you. The man in the dark was watching from afar and tried not to get noticed by you. He smiled to himself and as he walked through the streetlight then he hid his face in his hood.
You remembered at the doorstep. You totally forgot about your 'stalker'. As you set foot in your apartment a strange feeling of curiosity overcame you. You walked to the window to see if the man followed you again. Since he appeared this strange things started. Maybe this man was linked to your latest incidents.
And there he stood again. In a dark long coat and creepily looking up to your window. A dark aura circled around him but also some mystery. This time you tried to not look away, you wanted to know where he was going. So you kept staring. After a while it became uncomfortable and you felt anxiety creeping up your body so you took a step away from the window.

Chapter 1
“Hey, Y/N“ Your friend Mina walked through the door of the store. You looked up from the counter and smiled tired. “Ah, you're finally here.“ A look at the clock made it clear that your shift already ended. “I was almost at the merge of falling asleep.“
You knew Mina from university since both of you started to study music at Seoul University this semester. On the first day of university you both bumped into each other at the lecture hall and after talking and exchanging phone numbers you somehow became friends. Later you found out you also work at the same convenience store as her.
Mina was one of your only friends here in Seoul because it hasn't been a long time since you moved here. You were kind of shy and it wasn't easy for you to make new friends, especially in a new environment.
Mina just laughed. “Oh sweetie, it's time you go home and get some rest. Why did you even take your shift tonight? You didn't look well in lecture either.“
Looking to your best friend and yawning extensively you said: “I don't know.” A sighed escapes your mouth. “Maybe I'm stressing myself too much with all these assignments and deadlines.“ You slowly stood up and got your bag before Mina took your place on the counter. “You should really consider taking a day off. I'm sure it will set you up.”
You stop for a moment and think about what Mina said. “You're probably right.” Another sigh. “I will think about it. Thank you for looking after me.” Mina smiled. “No prob, sweetie.”
Walking to the doorstep, Mina interrupted you.
“You sure you wanna go home alone? You know I can always call Minhyuk to walk you if you feel scared. It's already pretty dark outside.” Minhyuk was Mina's boyfriend and most likely the nicest person on earth you knew. They met two years ago at a party Minhyuk threw with his friends and then one thing let to another.
“No thanks, Mina. I appreciate your offer but I really don't want to bother him.“ you simply declined “He's probably already asleep and it's really not that far.“ You only lived like five streets ahead of the convenience store you worked at.
“Well then,... get home safely!“ Mina smiled to you “See you tomorrow in university.“ You silently nodded and waved goodbye to Mina.
As you went outside into the mild summer night you paused shortly to get your headphones from your bag. Maybe Mina was right and you should take a day off to get some rest. The last few weeks really killed your sleep schedule and you couldn't remember the last time you slept a whole night through without waking up in the middle of the night.
Looking at the starry night you felt a familiar sting in your chest. There was a strange feeling lingering in the back of your mind. The thought of something important you couldn't remember.
Shaking your head you brushed those strange thoughts away and took a left towards your house.
You had a long and tiring week laying behind you and your shifts at the store didn't help decelerate it. Tomorrow is a new day, you thought and turned your music on.
Slowly walking down the long alleyway towards your house you enjoyed this short moment for yourself without anyone interrupting.
Halfway to your apartment you had that uncomfortable feeling creeping up your body that you weren't alone in the dark alley. You stopped shortly to glance behind you to look if someone was following you. You didn't see anyone only the few street lights and a stray cat. Am I already getting paranoid? To calm yourself down you turned your music to the maximum, walking a little faster than before.
The creepy feeling in your back didn't stop and only a few meters away from your apartment you were almost at the point of running. Taking two steps at a time flying up the stairs to the second floor. With shaking hands you tried to find the keys to your door and stumbled into your apartment after opening. Shutting the door behind you, you sunk, with your back at the door, down and buried your face in your hands. “Shit.....“ you whispered to yourself.
Slowly standing up, you made your way to the window in the living room. Glancing down at the street you saw the dark silhouette of a man standing under the nearest street lamp and looking up to your window. You gasped terrified and sunk down on your knees holding your breath. “The hell was that?!“ Did he follow you the whole way to your apartment?
After a few minutes of calming yourself down and slowing down your breath you took all your courage and took another careful glance down the street.
The street lamp was flickering. You looked up and down the street but you didn't see him anymore. The stranger who stood there just minutes ago disappeared. Did you just imagine everything? Maybe the stress with university and work was just too much for your brain and it's now playing with your senses. You sighed and made your way to the shower. That's what you definitely needed right now.
You couldn't sleep that night. Those thoughts about the incident earlier still crossing your mind.
Was he a stalker? Why would someone try to follow you to your house? You desperately tried to fall asleep but it didn't work.
After about 4 hours of being broad awake in your bed you decided to go to the kitchen and make yourself a hot cup of tea. Maybe your senses just played a trick on you and the feeling of someone following you came due to stress. Your mind wandered to the thought of calling in sick tomorrow, but your work ethic and need of money prevented you from developing it any further.
Lost in thought you grabbed your favorite cup from the drawer above you. “Damn!” It slipped from your grip and you tried to catch it in the air reaching out your hand. The moment you realized you couldn't catch it anymore you closed your eyes in fear of getting a broken piece into your eyes. Much to your surprise you didn't here any sound of it dropping to the ground.
After some seconds of forcefully squinting your eyes shut you carefully opened them. Your view dropped to the ground only to see that there was no broken china. Instead of that your favorite cup floated in the air like it was attached to an invisible string.
For a short moment you tried to process everything that was happening right now. But before you could think of anything to save that poor cup it suddenly dropped to the ground and dashed to shivers.
Your first reaction was to back off from the broken pieces on the ground. What the hell was that?
