âSorry for the trouble again!â  He offers a apologetic wave, and a troubled chuckle as he watches the two EMTs walk back towards the ambulance.  It had been a scene he had been a part of a few times now--which usually involved him being passed out in some alleyway as a person dials for emergency services when his deep sleep prevents anyone from waking him up.  He could hear the mutter of âdonât do it againâ echo from the paramedicâs lips into the alleyway to which he laughs quietly again. Â
As he hears the heavy doors shut, he turns towards the woman his apologetic smile now turned towards her.  Pale lavender gaze stares at her as before he speaks.Â
âSorry to scare you like that--I promise Iâm okay.  I just decided to take a nap.â  His explanation is polite as a chuckle follows his words.  He stuffs the purple sleeping mask back into his pocket, before straightening out his coat that hung loosely off his shoulder. Â
âThose guys are probably tired of seeing my face.â  Kei mumbles, another light-hearted laugh escaping.  â My name is Okazaki Kei.  I work at the police department.â  His hand gestures towards the direction of the lit building, while the other hand showed off his badge as an SP.Â
âThanks for waking me up, Miss...?â
He trails off, curiosity etched into his features as he stares at the young woman.  Had she introduced herself yet?  He didnât recall anything except her shocked expression when he suddenly woke up. Â

"Oh Shiraishi-san--are you heading to Yanagi-sanâs place now?â  Thereâs a hum in his voice as he speaks, his stride increasing to catch up with the other man.  His smile stays on his face as he stares at the otherâs cat ear head ornaments noting that it suited the other quite well. Â
It seemed late for the other to be heading towards the groupâs headquarters, but Yoshinari had texted him they still seemed to be up and active despite it being past midnight as time bled into the early morning--heâd have to relieve his partner of protecting the group soon. Â
âIâll go with you.  Maybe theyâll let me in if I just follow you.â Â
He doubted that an ideal situation like that would happen, but his smile betrays nothing of such thought.  Even if that sort of thing happened and they willingly let him in they would simply cover up whatever they were discussing. Â
At least it would serve as a good icebreaker for now--
He isnât quite sure what the female officer was trying to accomplish in her actionsâmaybe it was to make him stay in the hospital, or maybe it was to practice her own reading skills.  Either way, it wouldnât be a complete lie to say he wasnât enjoying it but it was a strange thing not to just listen while the other continued to read the lines printed in the book enthusiastically. Â
She even picked a horror novel for him, but it was difficult to focus on the plot when her voice adorably tried to mimic the setting of the book.  She spoke lower, then higher depending on what the novel painted out as the sceneâhe admires how elastic her face seems to be as it changes with her tone. Â
  It was very cute. Â
âIchika-chan, maybe we should stop here for today.â  He smiles at the woman, amusement in his voice as he reaches to push down the book to see her face clearly.  His arm feels stiff from being bedridden the last two days, but he ignores it.  âI have the movie of this book at home so we can finish it there.â Â
At his own words, he shifts his stiff body towards the edge of the bed, before standing upâpausing to stretch out his worn body and sighing as he feels the dull of ache of his muscles ring out from his nerves. Â
"Okazaki-san... I don't think I'm ready to smarm yet. I mean... I don't mean I will never be ready... but it's just too soon."

âDonât worry Ichika-chanâif you arenât ready now, Iâll wait until youâre ready to smarm.â  The officer replies cheerily, a chuckle following his words.  He gave the otherâs hand a gentle squeeze, before bringing it up to his lips for a quick peck. Â
His eyes widen as soon as he spots the woman--however, panic soon takes over his calm expression as he sees blood soaked into her uniformâs sleeve.  The noisy police office seems to tune out as he stares at the otherâs armâa shallow cut since she wasnât taken to the ER.  While he knows this, it doesnât stop his stride from speeding up to stand in front of the seated officer.  His body soon crouches to take a better look at the cut, as his lips press harshly into a thin line.
âIchika-chan...â  His voice is quiet, as his calloused fingers take the alcohol soaked cotton ball from her fingers--a silent request to let him help.  His eyes can see she was fine, but seeing her wounded and bleeding made him feel like hands were around his throat, suffocating him.
His arm had begun to ache, like he was the one wounded with such a shallow cut.   Â
She was fine. She was fine--
He just needed her voice to reassure him she was still here with him. Â
â......Iâm going to clean it, ok?â  The SP says after he finds his voice again.  His mind whirls with questions; namely where was he, and how could he let this happen?  It was unfair to himself, he knew, but his mental state would never let him get off easy if she of all people were hurt. Â
Maybe he should just follow her around 24/7. Â

âOhâTachibana-san, this is where you were!â  He keeps his quick pace as he jogs over, a smile greeting the otherâs blank expression.  Despite running all over the hotel, he isnât winded at allâin fact, it was nice to stretch his legs after standing around in the same position for hours. Â
âAre you enjoying the Shinjuku night life from up here?  Yoshinari-kun was in a panic looking for you.â  The officer continues, an amused hum following his words as he recalls his poor kohai calling in a panic when the singer was nowhere in his room to talk about security measures for tomorrow.Â
He never quite understood the big deal about an idol, but music wasnât anything he had an interest in.  The man was a VIP, and just another job.  It was a simplistic way to think, but was all he cared about.
âIf youâre bored, Iâll be happy to escort you around to see the Shinjuku nightlife.  Watching from a roof isnât very fun.â

Iâm sorry, my friend.
For in time of my wronging
I failed you as a person
And for that I lay longing
Of a time I once knew
Filled with peace and content
A time now long gone
For my guilt knows no extent.
Her unintentional cruel words echo in his head. Â He was sure his mind crafted her saying such things, as she could no longer speak anymore. Â
He failed. Â
His fingers were stained with her blood as he curls it around her cold handânot cold, not yet since he can still feel her fleeting warmth begin to vanish and slip through his fingers. Â The scarlet stain on her chest is all his lavender gaze can see as it continues to bleed out mercilessly, despite her being already gone. Â
He failed. Â Â
All he could hear was the deafening sound of his own heartbeat.  A disgusting reminder that he was still alive, breathing when he deserved to die.  His body pulls the womanâs one close to his own, her lifeless corpse leaning on himâlips press tenderly to her hair like he had done just a few days ago, when she yelled at him for his wish. Â
Your eyes are like mine. Â Youâre looking for a place to die, arenât you? Â
He was alive, but with her death he may as well be the corpse. Â
Cross my heart and hope to dieâŠÂ
Die.Â
Die. Â
He wanted to die.Â
But still his free hand doesnât move, instead gripping his gun as his nails dig into his palm until he wasnât sure if that was his own blood, or hers. Â Blood seemed to override all senses here in this large church, it was only fitting he should die in an area already riddled with death. Â
Even Zero was allowed to die. Â
It wasnât fair. Â Â
The hooded figure lay bleeding on the floor, dead as well.  He had felt the bullets tear into his shoulders, missing any vital points that would grant his wish.  Was it intentional?  He was a person who threatened a random death via collar, so who knows how sadistic the leader of Adonis was. Â
His body was too sturdy. Â He wished it was weak enough to succumb to the numb bullet holes that threatened to bleed him outâbut it was fine. Â He had nothing else to live for. Â The reason for his continued existence was already gone. Â
Because he couldnât keep his promise. Â
He was weak.
She was a special person; no one could ever hope to replace her. Â
At that thought, his hand raises. Â The barrel of his gun presses firmly against his head once again. Â His breathing quickened as his finger finds itself snug onto the trigger. Â
Itâs alright now. Â Adonis would fall without its leader. Â
There was nothing else on this Earth that could keep him here. Â
