since i'm talking about my happy marriage: i kind of don't like how the anime was vague about why kiyoka's previous engagements failed. they very vaguely mentioned that kiyoka's previous finaces were only in it for their own benefit.

but the manga actually gives a reason why the other engagements failed.

its because kiyoka's previous fiances were classist, entitled, and even mistreated yurie, who has been with kiyoka since he was a child.

it gives more of a reason for kiyoka to be surprised with miyo's behavior and to be vary.
