my fav travel products

lush lush baby! i have to admit, i never would have thought i’d become such a lush-lover. lush was always the ‘expensive bath bomb’ store to me and i never thought twice about shopping in there. it wasn’t until i was doing a ton of research about cruelty free products that i became such a fan. i rarely ever shop elsewhere for health and beauty products. i use all of their products religiously, but i thought i’d write a quick little blog about the products we’re taking with us when we go away. by the way, i say ‘we’ because mat has become equally obsessed (okay... maybe not obsessed) with their products as well. gotta love being able to share all your face scrub, shampoo and body wash with your significant other. 

lullaby shampoo bar: $11. worth every penny. this thing last me roughly 2 months and smells fresh, and works wonders. it’s perfect for my sensitive scalp. 

american dream conditioner: $11. doesn’t last quite as long as the shampoo bar BUT you only need a little to go a long way. i looove the smell and it makes me hair silky smooth after every wash. 

dream cream: $30 for 240g. i have the travel size of the dream cream which is perfect for travel because this cream moisturizes the shiz out of my hands and i love it. 

no drought: $9 for 55g. my hair is greasy and oily and sensitive and as a result i try not to wash my hair a ton. no drought is literally a life saver and i’m excited to see how it holds up in humid weather. i love this because it never makes my hair feel like hay, which a lot of other dry shampoos have done in the past. looove it.

and last, miles of smiles: $10 for 50g. we mainly use miles of smiles for travel because it’s easy to pack and you don’t have to worry about bringing 3 or 4 of those small dollar store toothpaste tubes. it’s fresh and leaves your pearly whites, white. 

when you’re travelling with just a carry on, you want to save as much space as you can which is why i love all of these products so much. they take up next to no space, and you never have to worry about bottles leaking or trying to squeeze in that bottle of shampoo. i love love love that all lush products are cruelty free, fair trade, and hand made. it makes it feel like you’re shopping at a local store downtown main street rather than a retail store at the mall.

it’s time for a new adventure

well, if you’re here reading this it’s either because you’re my friend and you clicked the link i put on facebook & instagram, or you’ve somehow randomly stumbled across this page. either way, welcome to my (new) hood! i’ve decided to start this blog because i’ve spent the last year travelling more than i usually would (thank you flight centre), falling in love with new places and not documenting it all. i don’t want to rely on instagram to remind me of the incredible places this life has taken me, so, here we are! 

i guess i should start off by introducing myself! my name is kelly mcbride, i am 26 years old (when the hell did that happen?), and i currently reside in aurora, ontario. after graduating from brock university and working + travelling for a couple of years, myself and my better half decided to move out west and explore what a life would be like in vancouver, b.c. although we had an incredible year, we made the tough decision to move back home after realizing just how far we were from our families. i am reminded everyday just how beautiful canada is, and how lucky we are to live here. 

my hope for this blog is that i can stay consistent w/ documenting my experiences, and also share with you my travel tips as well. i hope you also don’t mind a post or two about our home full of rescue animals.
