I’m a victor… I didn’t win from luck. I know what people are capable of. But I also know that I’m not gonna let who I’ve killed haunt me and I sure as hell am not gonna let this haunt me either. Whatever happens in these four weeks, I’m not gonna let it haunt me. and I understand that. I didn’t mean that like that. I was simply just saying that if it does ever come down to you and me… I’m gonna protect myself with my life.

You shouldn’t let your past haunt you either…

Of course you are. We all are. It's a Victor train. And none of us won from luck. But if you can let go of the people you killed that easily, then maybe you're a bigger threat than you think you are.

I certainly hope it doesn't come down to you and me. I don't plan on going down any time soon, and to be honest, I don't want to add anymore to the list of people I've killed for the Capitol.

So my past will always haunt me. That's what makes me human, and that's what keeps me from doing something I'll regret.

Yes but if my life was in danger I’d kill too. So if you threaten me, don’t expect me to just stand there and let you kill me.

That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying that no matter what, we can all be brought down to murder, and that's exactly what they want. So I wouldn't be as excited and peppy about these four weeks if I were you. And no, that's not a threat. Simply a word of advice, because you obviously underestimate the human ability to take a life when faced with a choice that we just can't make.

No. I don’t live in a fantasy world. I’m not naive. I know people are gonna die but I’m not planning on letting anyone I care about die. I’m not trying to be rude or anything. I’m simply saying that I’m not gonna let anyone I know die.

And let me guess. If someone tried to kill one of your friends, you'd probably kill to save them, right?

Because we’re not being forced to kill anybody in this to leave the arena. We just have to survive 4 weeks. As far as I’m concerned I won’t have to do anything to kill someone. It’s sad to think that there are people out there who can’t look at life with a positive outlook.

Oh, you live in some kind of fantasy world if you think there's a chance that somebody won't be killed. I don't plan on killing anybody personally, but I know everyone, myself included, will do anything to get out of there alive. It's hard to have a positive outlook knowing that.
