Because you love to tell us all about how much you’ve realized about ‘yourself’ while failing to see it as a continuous choice to draw attention to you vs. direct it toward others... AKA cuz you like attention. AAKA you’ve made humblebrag a nonverbal life choice while neglecting a wake of friendships in tatters. :)

Me when I read an endless parade of self-realization posts from people who seem to forget that they too have blamed, shamed and attacked... often times the very audiences they are every so modestly preaching to, conveniently forgetting that loyalty is loving someone for all that they are (yin and yang), while being in their corner when it's not convenient and you, frankly, may get nothing out of it. #whosthathypocriteinthemirror 

BTW, it's been 12 months since I re-patriated, ups and downs included, and considering that I really have no will to remain in the US for the long-haul, I am so blessed to have had this time filled with reunions, new friendships and a wash of #1 most-awesome-auntie-supreme time. I've camped, I've glamped, I've regained my RIGHT TO DRIVE IN CA!! Boom! 

One of the most important lessons I learned since the year Bowie died, and I dared to adventure further than some thought I ‘should’: the people you invest in may not always invest in you, but the ones who do, remember the gifts they gave of their time and their consideration (whatever it was they could give), and help it wake you up to how you may also be that to someone else, or the same someone. I don't know; I'm not a doctor... But I do love you and you and you and even you. Yeah, you in the back... I love you, too. Even the ones that hurt me and that I have hurt, I love you. I am implicitly and explicitly biased, I have been and have myself betrayed, I wake in a change of mind every day. As do you. 

Let's not become stubborn hypocrites who can't admit that once we were wrong and now we see. Let's just be open to a new way of thinking and still be allowed the space to disagree, respectfully, of course. Rant done... Love you.

I’ve decided to take up painting again, rather creating in general. My life in London was full... of drinking, dancing, walking, talking, working, festivals and tastings, meetings, theatre, film, travel, so much food, languages, museums, castles, education, a newness wrapped up in the old world... I had little time for the creative whisperer nestling neglected in the back of my mind. • My friend Graeme said to me the week I arrived in London, “once you’ll live here, everywhere else will seem sleepy in comparison.” Moving back to California, even in the heart of LA, his words ring truth. • So, now, I’m taking up again things that settled me and stirred my juices. Some I’m just sharing to share, others I may sell. I’ll let you know which. Fun little find on the grounds of the Orange County Heritage Museum. Walking into @tikilandtrading is like getting bonked on the head with a coconut and waking up inside the #EnchantedTikiRoom on #GilligansIsland and finding yourself done in brightly geometric patterned Easter-Island-themed garb and equally eccentric (and matching theme) headdress. Took part in the Wine Education Week yesterday with the hubs to show him what I’ve been studying the last few months. The night included five wines 🍾🥂🍷(see the last pic in this series) covering everything from a Chianti Classico Riserva to an off-dry Mosel Kabinett Riesling + some tasty nibbles courtesy of the folks at Fellow, in Westwood. This goal of the evening: to give people an overview of the WSET teaching approach starting with a look at various wine styles and types then closing out with a look at how different foods and tastes (sweet 🍪, spicy 🌶, salty🧂, fatty 🧀, acidic 🍋) affect how we taste different elements in the wine.
