Still finishing up the touch up, but here’s a quick before & after of the crack, and then an overall shot of the back of this guitar. I replaced the previous luthier’s spline with an even larger one to fill the crack fully, and used a lighter piece of rosewood so I could paint the dark grain in where it crosses the crack (the previous luthier used a saw to enlarge the crack so they could fit their spline [obvious because they cut into the braces a little bit] - I don’t know if the crack originally crossed the grain like that but it does now). Yeah I dunno I’ve been off tumblr for a while because it’s where I met my ex, and my blog is basically 5+ years of him being the most important person in my life and it’s really hard to go through and delete every post that mentions him. It’s just a LOT you know? And with every old post I see, I’m reminded of how much I loved him. I miss tumblr, but I don’t particularly want to be active here again if that stuff is still lingering around in my archive. What would y’all do?
