Sea slugs aren’t exactly creatures you’d consider to be adorable, but Japan’s Twittersphere has just rediscovered what is probably the cutest sea slug ever – Jorunna parva, a sea slug that looks like a fluffy bunny.

This tiny sea slug’s bunny ears are actually rhinophores, or chemosensory scent/taste organs that help them detect chemicals in the water and make their way across the ocean floor. They can be found from the Indian Ocean to the Philippines to Japan, where photos of them have become popular.

he puts his hands up like he’s pleading and catches the guy completely off guard. i mean. he’s got a gun. guy’s on his knees. he feels totally safe and in control of the situation. then the guys hands are right next to the gun and he surprises him and immediately tilts the weapon up and away from him and yanks the arm down while thrusting his legs forward to kneecap the guy and manages to wrench the gun away

so shit now the second guy is on the ground with probably a broken knee and no gun and the first guy has the weapon and is fucking free and clear remember this me you need to remember this

This Is Everything I Know: A 24-Hour Comic About Comics.

Hey, all. This is a comic I started on 24 Hour Comic Day, but I only managed to complete 12 pages on that day. That makes it a technical failure, but I decided it was worth finishing regardless of that.

I sold copies at APE, but I didn’t anticipate the demand and ran out of them pretty quickly. So, I promised to re-post the mini on tumblr when i got home, and here it is.

Kevin Kelly’s original essay on 1000 True Fans. He also links to associated articles dealing with the theory, even one that disagrees with it. Interesting reading.

If you don’t know about Kickstarter and what its done for indie comics, get out from under that rock already. Lots of small press and micro publishers now pre-order ALL their projects on KS, myself included.

Patreon is the new kid on the block; not quite up to scratch as of yet, but full of possibilities. Search “comics” to find a number of creators using it to draw a page rate from their fanbase.

I hope someone finds this helpful. I may put a print-rez PDF up for sale, if any interest is expressed.

How do you draw facial hair so well. IT'S SO GOOD. And what tips do you have for drawing hair? ILYSM. AND YOUR ART. ILOVEALLOFIT. THANKYOU.

Oh my gosh thank you!! <3 <3 You are so sweet!! I’ve gotten a few asks on how to draw facial hair so I put a little thing together. It’s kind of a lot different than drawing the hair on top of your head so I’ll have to do another thing in the future. I’m really not the best at explaining things so bear with me and let me know if you need more info!

You’ve got this baby faced man and you wanna put a good beard on him. Well I start by throwing down a sloppy base just to give it a cooler foundation.

Go in and draw darker lines where the hair is thicker and dense and I actually end up drawing nearly every single strand of hair so it requires a lot of patience but it’s really worth it in the end. Pen pressure is really important to put down a dark base and draw it out lighter. I start out with thicker brushes and paint lightly and then work my way down to small, thin brushes for sharper details.

It’s also a good idea to go in and draw little light patches of skin since beards are pretty blotchy and imperfect. Again pen pressure is key. I keep the hairs sharp but not totally obvious by blending lightly with warmer skin tones. I’m ridiculously meticulous with facial hair but it’s honestly one of my favorite things to draw but yeah!
