Often I am baffled by many people because people can be so angry about so much, because being angry is so exhausting. I could definitely be wrong because I am an outside observer, but it seems like you have a lot of anger for certain things (completely justified 99% of the time). If this is at all accurate, I’m curious how you have the energy for it? (If this at all comes off as rude I apologize it is not my intention)

Yeah, it is exhausting and it is not a choice I make consciously.

Being a hater is a byproduct of optimism.

You hear about ideas, or movies, or books, or policies, or movements and you imagine them being executed in ways that are good. You hope too much and imagine too far and then when things fall short of those expectations, especially in ways that feel easily preventable or have demonstrable negative consequences, you get upset about it.

It's kind of like how once you become knowledgeable in a field, you see little shortcomings everywhere. I went to school for graphic design, so any kind of weird typographic error on a sign sets off alarm bells in my head. It cannot be unlearned, it is just something I will have forever passively screaming in my ear for the rest of my life.

Being a hater is like that. It's seeing a world slightly better than the one we get everywhere around you and getting frustrated when other people don't see those gaps between what is and what could be too.

If I could turn this off I 1000% would. It seems much easier to live without dealing with those little alarm bells in your head going off, but they always show up, and so I am mad and tired. Alas.
