Dragonlance
Art by Eric Canete
Back when i first started interacting with the Dragonlance fandom, in 2012 or so, April 8th was marked as International Raistlin Majere Day. My question to you all is, Does anyone still celebrate it? And if not, is anyone interested in bringing it back?
I was thinking how much i need stories with dragons in them right now, and then i remembered @moniquill's new book just came out.
Tas has become well acquainted with the workings of the time travel device. Excitement, enthusiasm, and a hint of troublemaking spirit accompany every journey. As the stones of the floor howl, an invisible wind rises and the fabric of time tears.
"Tasslehoff and the Device of Time Journeying", is an illustration commissioned by the Dragonlance Nexus for a new upcoming project.
Pencil and paper sketch + digital redraw and painting with Cintiq and Photoshop. Painted in August 2025, published in November 2025.

[Image description: A hardcover copy of Dragons of the Hourglass Mage, by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman. A library barcode on the front cover has been blacked out with a sharpie. End description.]
My local library has a big inspection coming up, and have to purge basically any book that looks like it’s been read before, because admin is too cheap to buy new shelves, even though there’s plenty of room. (I know, it’s awful.) Luckily i was able to rescue this one before it was thrown out.
[Image description: a corner torn out of a piece of lined loose-leaf writing paper, featuring an eye with an hourglass-shaped pupil. The iris is gold, the skin around it very lightly colored a similar shade, while the lashes and eyebrow are whitish. There’s writing around the edges. End description.]
Found this eye while going through some old papers, so i colored it.
Raistlin 🖤
So Kal-Thax was apparently officially slightly northeast of Thoradin Bay. It's there in the Tasslehoff's Map Pouch map.
Except
That land is fucking flat???
So the wiki for dwarves says the original location of Kal-Thax had been lost in time (edit: I forgot that the map is meant as in "Tas had personally been everywhere there", he might have just found it) but it was somewhere in the northeastern part of Ansalon, with many dwarves living in caves along the coast.
The wiki for Ansalon says that the dwarves of Kal-Thax had enslaved minotaurs in the latter's lands.
Like everything, except for the actual map and the fact that from the placement on the map the road to the eventual establishment of Thoradin is much clearer, shorter and more logical, seems to be placing Kal-Thax in the Worldscap Mountains, the northeasternmost (barring the Worldscap Forest) part of Ansalon???
The mountains closer to the actual future Mithas and Kothas were the Ambeoutin/Pafiro Mountains (they are called different names in different maps I have). That's also northeastern part of Ansalon, I think it would be plausible for dwarves to live beneath both (although I'm not sure if anyone intended at least the latter), but the placement of Kal-Thax in the Worldscap Mountains would be consistent with the "along the coast" description.
How did they get to the Khalkists — by ships, perhaps?
Although, alternatively I have thought that maybe. They lived inside the coast which would in that case be a very tall cliff. Kal-Thax means Cold Forge, could be about that. But the minotaurs?? And dwarves do still tend to live specifically in mountains.

I like that he looks dumb and bored here...
Hello dear, I wanted to ask if Baron Lagtree was 5 feet (wiki says he is 5.2 but fhe book if I remember right says he was 5) then how high was Horkin? I suppose a bit taller since his height describtion wasn't empasised much (not ike Ivor's). Also could you please find me quotes on Kitara's height lfrok all books) or Scroungers? Or tell me of search Ican find them orderly?
I'm afraid i don't remember if any of those details were addressed, and i don't have my books handy to look them up.
Followers, any of you know?
Ah yes, Magius the Idiot and his best friend Kaz.
