the deer turned out stupid :(
how it feels to like a popular mlm ship knowing you can’t stand any uke seme alpha omega yaoi dynamic bullshit and you don’t really care who’s topping and who’s bottoming and you don’t like when those roles influence character personalities
Also totally cried my eyes out to chapter 22 of Stone Butch Blues! I don't think l've had writing resonate like that with me in a crazy long time.
Something about the way Ruth and Jess see each other completely was so moving to me and felt like something that was so far past a platonic or romantic relationship. And Ruth's line to Jess:
"I think you're afraid this is the last beautiful thing that's going to happen to you, and you want to hold onto it"
had me actually weeping in my bed. I don’t know why something so simple caught me so off guard!
I relate soooo much to Jess’ sort of scarcity mindset when it comes to any ounce of love or stability/comfort. I think it made me reflect on my feelings about the anxiety I hold towards the relationships in my life, and getting one good cry out felt like relaxing my jaw after subconsciously clenching my teeth for hours. I want to be able to care for others fully without any fear of having to let them go or being hurt or humiliated. I hope Jess can get to that point too… We’ll have to see!
I get so overwhelmed by social media (Instagram, TikTok, Twitter) sometimes. I yearn to be someone who only uses like Tumblr, Goodreads, and Pinterest

first day in what feels like forever that I've taken the time to make myself all dolled up... Even if it wasn't for super long, it felt the best! Wearing an outfit you like should be its own form of self-care.

This year's Pride Month has also been soooo wonderful and special to me even tho I've spent most of it working my ass off lol. It's the first since I've really started thinking about my sense of self as an individual queer person and not how it relates to others, and I feel like this time around, I know so much more about myself and my relationship to queerness, identity, and sexuality. Equally though, I still feel like I have SO much to learn and that thought actually makes me kind of excited!!
I've had so much fun messing around, exploring myself and what I like, and developing my "gay ego" so-to-speak and it feels awesome to celebrate a side of me that I've been scared or embarrassed of for so long. I think I've done a lot of the hard work that comes with building a stronger sense of self-respect, and I'm really proud (hehe) of it! I want to keep being bold and honoring the loud and totally untamable feelings that come from existing and wanting, and I'm excited to carry the same energy throughout the rest of my summer and year!!
I feel so grateful to be surrounded by so many awesome queer friends and have people who understand so deeply what it feels like to try existing fully as yourself. And to have those same ppl cheering me on as I spend all month raving about a crazy crush or exciting life updates.... Just so happy.... yayyayayayyyyy
Love talking about my lesbianism with other people… I think people forget that it very much so is a super queer and fluid label. At least that’s how I see it!!!!!!!!

I’m listening to the new Olivia Rodrigo album and I’m not really a huge fan because I think it just sounds… kind of boring… and the lyrics are too cheesy for my tastes… but wow this felt like a giant anvil being dropped on my head. Like one of the 3 songs I MIGHT listen to more
I’m willing to be more nice because after having these songs stuck in my head and seeing some edits I like I find myself actually enjoying and listening to the album on my own. And I painfully relate to some even if the lyrics sound kind of uninspired but GRRRRRRRR
I just think the evolution from guts to this is SO DISAPPOINTING
I don’t think there’s anything inherently wrong with relating to characters, “they’re literally me” etc but if that’s the only way you engage with stories you’re kinda missing the whole point of Characters being vehicles through which we can see perspectives outside of our own. and also you’re going to get upset when the Character acts in a way that is not Personally Relatable to You
This and Begged by Olivia Rodrigo coming out this summer… THEYRE TRYING TO KILL MEEE!!!!!!
