Clyde is my "ethical Cartman", so to speak, in that he's actually not all that ethical (but comparatively to Cartman he is), but instead of stewing about how he's evil and how much he annoys me etc etc wahh his character is different now, i take great joy at his antics and encourage him to get worse strictly on the principle that It's funny because it's Clyde. Clyde becoming an anti-vaxxer Li'l Charlie Kirk type is funny only because Clyde is the vessel in which this is happening. it's funny because it's Clyde. my new slogan
#Yeah pretty much#I think part of it is 1) Clyde never really comes out on top#And 2) Clyde isn't nearly as smart as Cartman sometimes is#If Cartman's characterization is consistent then he is absolutely smart enough to be a manipulative piece of shit in one episode -#- and play dumb in another; even if that's a watsonian way to write him#Meanwhile Clyde is just Clyde. He's dumb. Even at his most manipulative and scheming he's kinda stupid#Oh and he's never; like; killed a dozen people at once out of pure bigoted hate. He's got that going for him too
