Another recent appearance by Matt and Trey on the Television Academy awards randomly popped up in my recommendations. Glad I saw it as I had no idea.

They've done a lot of little things lately. I haven't been caught up on all of it yet but I haven't heard too much that I didn't already know. They like to tell a lot of the same stories in interviews (and interviewers keep asking the same damn things!!!!! get new questions!!!!) so I tend to tune out on appearances or articles unless other people start talking about something new that came up.

ok so not a DeLorne specific update but something tangentially related— there’s a very good chance that me-ladie is the first person to use “Tophe” as a nickname for Christophe

This 2005 Tophlovski/Kystophe fic by vcorrigan (who might be the person that gave Craig his former fanon surname Nommel) uses ‘Tophe as a nickname in its intro chapter, but then in the next chapter’s A/N, she says this:

Since the vcorrigan fic is from 2005 and me-ladie is talking about already having multiple fics that use this, that means there’s a good chance me-ladie was the first to do it. There is Tophlovski fic from like mid 2004 on livejournal, which is the earliest fic with Christophe that I’ve found so far, but that doesn’t use “Tophe” at all. It uses “Chris” as a nickname.

While I’m not confident calling me-ladie the originator of “DeLorne”, it should also be noted that they have the oldest recorded usage of it in the description of a dA post of theirs from Feb. 2005 (this is mentioned in my big research post). So… maybe it’s Tophlovski fans who built this DeLorne empire 😳
