The day was late and there really wasnât a whole lot that Julian could be doing; there was always the added bonus of his telekinesis in the clinic, but it seemed to be slow for the moment, so it was safe to take some time for himself. At least, that was the goal - was he likely to get it? Probably not, with the number of new bodies that came in to the shelter thanks to NOVAâs fear mongering.
Still, he tried. With the bouts of silence he did get, Julian used that time to disassemble small items. He tried to tear them apart by the smallest component possible, wanting to work his way down, to strengthen his ability so that maybe one day he could work on a molecular level. Or smaller. He wasnât nearly that close, but he was determined.
With a remote control in a dozen small pieces scattered around him, hovering reminiscently of a constellation in the night sky around a star, Julian didnât catch Samâs handsome country boy mug enter the premises. âGuthrie,â he greeted, green laden gaze now fixed on the older man, remote forgotten with the coming of the new visitor. âHow goes?â
Sam was all but aflutter about his little brother being in Star City. He was so proud and yet, so terrified because what if NOVA picked Jeb up? He could handle wait under Scottâs command, even if he was discontent about, for others who got picked up, but if it was his brother? Well, he wouldnât be able to handle that and someone would definitely get punched in the face. Maybe, a lot of somebodies. Actually, Jeb was the reason he was in the clinic in the first place.
âHi there, Julian,â Sam said in his Kentucky drawl. âAh need to talk your ear off for a second or two. My brotherâs in town and the reason heâs in town is that he was outed as a mutant in our home town. Ah know he wonât come âere willinâ so Ahâll haveta pull âim by the ear, but he took a crowbar to the back of the head on his way outta town and Ahâm thinkinâ he needs to get that checked out, right?â
