When: Present Day Where: Star City - Park With: M’Gann @maybemaybemartian
Charlie was an active boy, he always had been and Chuck doubted it would ever change. He tried to take his boy to the park as often as possible and he flew his kites while Charlie ran about and tried to make friends. It always upset him a little to see his boy waving at so many people and never getting a response but it never seemed to bring the kid down, if anything he shrugged it off and jumped back into the fun of rolling about in the grass.
His lilac kite with a bird pattern was easily gliding on the high breeze and Chuck idly pulled the strings every now and then to keep it that way. Charlie had just jumped from a tree branch and ran towards where some pigeons were gathered near a bench. He waved at a woman in a blue dress and, oddly, he didn’t dart off two seconds later... Chuck tilted his head some and took a few steps closer, still easily keeping the kite aloft and heard-
‘Your dress is really pretty lady! Blue’s my second favourite but green is the best! It’s my Daddy’s favourite too and-’
“Charlie,” Chuck called, “Don’t bother the nice lady too much okay?” he asked smiling, before looking at the red headed girl, “Sorry, Charlie’s a charmer, loves talking to the girls.” he winked as the boy jogged over to his side, “Girls have cooties Daddy, eww.” he said, making a face while Chuck laughed.
Sam went out and ended up at the library of District X because he’d always spent a lot of time at the public library back home. It was one of the few places that were affordable enough (read: free) for him to go to pass the time and catch some air conditioning. The smell and atmosphere were also inviting to him. The stillness and the scent of old books. He went to the poetry section and tried fruitlessly to find the book he wanted and so he ended up at the librarian’s desk, looking for help. “Sorry t’be a bother, ma’am, but ya wouldn’t happen to know where I can find some Pablo Neruda books, wouldya?” @maybemaybemartian
Clear the Mind

Therapy was...interesting. Clint wasn’t exactly sure how he felt about it. It wasn’t that he disliked it, but it wasn’t exactly fun. Of course, he’d only had two sessions so far, and they hadn’t made a lot of headway, but he wasn’t expecting this to be a fast process. He just wanted it to work.
After his first session Clint had decided to go on his own, and he’d just gotten out of his second. The whole thing was exhausting, not physically so much, but mentally, and not up to seeing anyone who might ask about how it went. Clint had gone to his apartment, changed into sweatpants and an old shirt Sam had donated to him, picked up Tramp, and went jogging.
He wasn’t really sure where he was going, just running to clear his mind and work out the muddled feelings his session had left behind. The archer hadn’t been planning on ending up jogging along the river, but once he realised that’s where he was he wasn’t that upset about it. It was a nice view at least, and as he slowed down to a walk there were plenty of things for Tramp to sniff at.
Apparently, he had been running for longer than he realised because he was dripping with sweat, his entire body radiating heat. Stopping on the walking path, turning to lean against the railing that kept people from trying to swim in the river, Clint tugged his shirt off, while it was mostly soaked through there were a couple big dry patches and he used those to wipe his face and neck, trying to get the worst of it. He was beginning to wish that he had thought far enough ahead to bring a water bottle, but it had slipped his mind.
Paws on his thigh had him looking down and he chuckled as Tramp started licking the sweat off his side and abs. “I know, I know you’re thirsty, too, but that’s not gonna help any.” Gently he pushed the dog down, and then he was glancing around until he found a decently thick stick, getting Tramp’s attention before he threw it and unclipped his leash so he could go running after it.

Sokovia was certainly better than some of the shitholes Rose had found herself passing through over the years, though she was fairly certain it still ranked top five. The people were nice, the food was good, but the devastation from years prior was still clear. There was work to be done, to be certain. The difference between other ravaged countries that Rose had passed through was, well...she wasn’t exactly sure how much she was just passing through. She was on a mission, and the mission could take time. So she may as well start calling Sokovia home sweet home for at least a little while. Rose had spent a good amount of time exploring, getting to know the ins and outs of Matchak and picking up cultural tidbits. Languages had always been a breeze for her, so immersing herself wouldn’t be hard. However, she’d run into a few familiar faces, and Rose’s mission was becoming a little more clear. Maybe it was a coincidence, but she’d been in the game long enough to know that not much was.
Speaking of familiar, she could’ve spotted that flash of red hair a mile away. Rose had seen it in a flash first, which led her to to the library in the first place. Sure, she liked libraries, but the need for a book wasn’t exactly what brought her through the doors. “We certainly aren’t in Kansas anymore, Toto,” Rose said as she approached the familiar face, a lazy grin spreading across her face. “Though I should have guessed I’d find you in a library. Oh wait, I did.”
Tucked inside the empty quiver Clint abandoned in the pantry cave is a deep bag of kettle corn. Deep enough to fill the entire quiver but wrapped carefully so as not to sully the inside of the quiver. This does distract from the second gift, but the astute observer would notice that the quiver itself has been restored with a loving hand.
“Well, I’ll be damned,” Clint muttered as he thumbed at his quiver, a surprised little smile quirking his mouth. It had been the first thing he’d noticed when he’d gone to refill it with arrows as a detour on his trip to liberate some jerky from the pantry. The slight wear and tear it’d been accumulating had been smoothed over, patched seamlessly and polished as well as he’d been the one to do it. And when he went to lift it—well, now that completely gave away who it’d been, didn’t it?
Clint chuckled to himself, shaking his head. “Sweet kid,” he muttered. “And a very merry Christmas to you too, Miss M’orzz, wherever you’re lurking...”

Rose didn’t know what she expected by showing up at M’gann’s apartment. M’gann hadn’t been answering her calls. At first she’d been worried, especially because there was still a very tangible threat on her life. Once she’d worked out that M’gann was just fine and was choosing to ignore her, she wasn’t sure how to handle the situation. It made sense to back off and give her some space, but as the days stretched on and the silence continued, Rose started getting antsy. She didn’t like situations she had no control over. M’gann had been upset with her, but she thought she’d gotten her to understand why she’d done it. It had been for her own good.
Leaning a shoulder into the wall, she stood there for a while before actually lifting a hand to knock. She didn’t have a whole big speech prepared. The main reason she’d come over was to figure out what the hell was going on. M’gann never ignored her before and she didn’t like it. She was used to getting texts from her, even the ones that used to make her roll her eyes. Now her phone sat eerily silent and she had to constantly stop herself from reaching for it.
As soon as the door opened, she cut to the chase. “Why are you ignoring me?” No bullshit. No small talk

No matter how high up the legal tree you climbed there was one place you’d always return to: the library. It was still the best place to go looking for obscure case files and newspaper clippings that could make or break a case at the eleventh hour. Not that Foggy was under any such pressure at the moment. Honestly he was more here to just brush up on some legal volumes and wanted a change in scenery from his office at the station. Plus, it was nice and quiet here. Sure people were talking but the hushed voices were miles away from the yells of cops and perps.
He was making copious notes on paper beside him, a habit he’d gotten into at college to help him remember, but an ill-timed sneeze had him jolting forwards and knocking several of his papers on the floor. “Ahh nuts.” he muttered to himself, wiping his nose with a tissue and bending forward to try and grab the messed up notes when a petite redhead came into view having beaten him to the punch with some. “Oh thanks.” he smiled up at her, “Guess I should’ve bolted all the paperwork down in prep for hurricane levels sneezes right?”
