New Font for Sims 3 ✨

overrides the font used in game with the font "The Sims Sans"

Compatible: with every UI mod I could find, I tested it

Installation: just put the file in your packages-folder

Conflicts: Font Replacement by simstateTS3, poppins font override by shellseasims and font replacements by lwillowlthewicked

Installation

just put the file in your packages-folder, the usual way, nothing special required.

How to create your own font replacement:

1. Find your font somewhere online

2. Download your font as a ".ttf" file

3. Download my mod

4. Open my mod with S3PE

5. Right click on the "HelveticaNeueLTStd-Md" entry > Replace > choose your font in .tff format

6. Right click on the "TextStyles" entry > notepad > a new window with CSS Code opens (this really easy to read, believe me)

7. CTRL + H (to replace text within the file) > replace all occurences of The Sims Sans with the name of your font (do not remove anything else, only replace the name with your font name)

8. Check if all got replaced right. Each quote symbol has to be present, just like before. Then Save the file and close the text editor.

9. Save the package file in S3PE. You're done.

10. Test the result in game.

this mod edits two resources in the UI.package, located in the installation directory of sims

any other mod that overrides fonts conflicts with this mod

Conflicts: Font Replacement by simstateTS3, poppins font override by shellseasims and font replacements by lwillowlthewicked

Hey guys! As a person of color, I have noticed a little bit of a struggle in finding ethnic/afro-texture hair in the Sims 3. So, I created a huge ethnic/afro-textured hair haul for the Sims 3. My rambling is below the cut...

When I opened my TS3 game for the first time in years, I started a new game. It didn't hold my interest though, and I hopped around a few different worlds and many new Sims. Eventually I dug through my old save games and found my one in Eltham's Drift. That particular save game really needed to be purged, but I used Porter to preserve the direct family tree line of my ten-generation legacy family and moved them to Glendalough. Eltham's Drift is my all-time favorite world, so I figured I would love another one by the same creator (neuroticrobotic).

I've been adding the lots and rabbitholes from EPs after the world's release, including the elixir shop, arboretum, and an observatory rabbithole rug for the decorative observatory already in the world. I'm finding room for my favorite old builds from Eltham's Drift—like Fiddleford House, where my legacy family is still living—and will be replacing/renovating other houses as I play. I'd like to build proper shells for the rabbitholes at some point, but community lots aren't my strength. I also made some new households to populate the town, and I'm keeping a spooky, supernatural theme—again, like Eltham's Drift. All that is to say that I'm very, very excited to play this game again.

Moonreach Hall is for my legacy family heir who's moving out of Fiddleford House. The interior will have a lot more CC and Store content before I'm done with it, so I decided to share this one unfurnished. Hope you enjoy.

PRIMER: HD Skin for All Ages (Baby-Elder)

This is a brand new skin, but should suit sims made with Starfruit, as I try to keep my face textures neutral enough to work with a wide variety of features. Everything, from the ears to the fingernails and genitals, has been painted and tweaked to the best of my ability. It’s still not perfect, but if I don’t share this now, I never will.

I am sharing this in a variety of resolutions so you can pick the quality level appropriate for your game - the non-defaults will not conflict, and the ramps are labeled with the quality level so you can easily compare. 

The elder bodies are not included in the default versions. Elders will instead use my adult body textures. This is because by default, EA shares the same body texture for teens through elders. You can only have unique teen/elder body textures with non-default skins.

*4/23/2017* For anyone spotting this download for the first time, I’d like to add that after numerous, numerous attempts at editing the specular to produce greater in-game effects, I haven’t been able to produce a worthwhile result. You’re free to download this and try it for yourself, but I would keep expectations at a minimum. Currently debating deleting this altogether. This makes a minuscule amount of difference in that it has less glare than EA’s smeary default, however, that’s about it.  

*UPDATED 2/26/16* So, it seems that the face specular can also impact the eye mesh. My original version of this mod may have caused a slight sheen on the iris. Thanks to @buckleysims, I’ve corrected this issue.  Please re-download! I apologize for the inconvenience. 

HD Specular Default Replacement (1K Faces & 2K Bodies)

Primer’s texture has been mixed with EA’s maps and details have been adapted from Buhudain’s normal maps. Scalps, faces and bodies are all included to ensure seamless shine. Just like You Are Real, this should enhance the appearance of all skins that do not include custom specular maps. This is intended to complement Buhudain’s mod, not replace it. I use this with You Are Real. Ultimately, specular changes are pretty subtle, and the difference is better captured in motion than in a single image. All screenshots were taken with this replacement installed.
