id: a digitally drawn Santa pointing at text. The Salvation Army is NOT a Charity. They're an Evangelical Protestant Church that uses donations to actively oppress LGBT Rights. They've threatened to close thousands of NY Soup Kitchens if forced to adhere to Civil Rights laws with gay employees. They refuse helping LGBT homeless that come to their shelters. Donations are spent lobbying against LGBT rights globally. Please research a charity before donating. Happy Holidays! / end id
You are beautiful
The beast is sleeping, not dead.
Love yourself more
You are Enough
We all know what a crazy world we live in.Ā We know that even though there are wonderfully loving people around us, so many of them still struggle to accept anything other than a dualistic framework for humanity.Ā Just the other day, I watched as a dear friend shared a post on a social media platform, saying,Ā āThere are only two genders, male and female.Ā Thereās nothing in between.ā Heās not exactly dumb, heās not an evil person, yet itās all black and white to him, including issues surrounding gender and what that looks likeā¦to him.Ā I still consider him a friend, but I also know that heās not someone with which I can openly talk about my girly ways.Ā No worries.Ā I knew that before he wrote that.
We all know people like that because theyāre in our circles.Ā Itās not just from a distance that we see them.Ā Theyāre in our neighborhoods, in our work places, at our stores, even in our own homesādecent people, but with close-minded ideas.Ā They expect birth-assigned genders.Ā Thereās no gray area biologically or psychologicallyāor fashionably.Ā And because of the sheer volume of people like this within our communities, we feel the pressure to measure up, fake who we are, put on a show, and pretend that we belong.Ā This is where I so often find myself, trying to be the āboyā that so many people expect me to be.Ā So, I dress like a boy, walk like a boy, think like a boy, and talk like a boyāor at least boy enough to satisfy the crowdās expectations.
I know me and Iām a girl boy.Ā And I donāt mean the private time, fetish dream-world me.Ā The me that is in public is the true me, the girly me.Ā However, the expression of that public appearance, is NOT me. Itās a show.
Iām a girly boy.Ā YES!Ā Iām a girly boy.Ā Whether in private or in public, Iām a girly boy.Ā So, why do I try so hard to portray myself as a boyish boy?Ā Again, itās all because of societal expectations.Ā Even with growing communities of acceptance and tolerance, that dualistic gender pledge is still being stamped on every page of life.Ā
You know who you are and I want to tell you that you are just who you need to beā¦you.Ā Youāre a girly boy, or maybe some other description.Ā And no matter what expectations are pushed on you or however you cope with fitting in or flaking out, please know that I love you because YOU are enough.
Love you, girlies!
