Picking A Lock Is Not As Easy As Hollywood Makes It Look
It takes knowledge and a certain amount of skill in order to be able to successfully pick open a lock. Every year we get customers that like to try and do it themselves. Hollywood movies and TV shows make it look so simple that a two year old could do it. If that were the case then locks would protect absolutely nothing at all and your property would always be at risk.
We've seen people try to use some pretty weird items as lock picks. For instance not too long ago we had someone call us for assistance. When we arrived at their location we discovered that this person had used a jigsaw blade to try and pick the lock open. We know it was a jigsaw blade because this person actually broke the blade off in the lock. Then they called us for help. A jigsaw blade is what we removed from their lock.
If something seems easy because a Movie or TV has made it appear so, don't be fooled into thinking that this is something that you should be able to do fast and easy. You could get yourself into a situation that you need help getting out of by a professional.
Just because there is an actor portraying a brain surgeon on a television show or movie doesn't mean that you should go give it a try on someone.
