Bornean bearded pig (Sus barbatus)
"Bearded pig" by eMammal, CC BY-NC-SA 2.0 (x)
In Feifferโs first comic strip for The Village Voice, on October 24, 1956, he sent up the world of suits heโd been stranded in since leaving the army. The drawing style was intentionally primitive; the complaint, twentieth-century primal.

what the fuck is this shit man
I like being alive. I like the feeling of the sun on my skin. I like the concept of living on a planet, being an animal. I like to feel the breeze on my skin, especially when I'm sweating. Driving to get coffee this morning, I noticed at least 10 pieces of roadkill. From fully formed freshly killed opposum to unrecognizable smears of blood and fur to black charred circles that are more tire imprints than anything now. That's just what I could see. There's way more dead animals that weren't even significant enough for me to notice their corpses. I think every part of that road at one point had a dead animal flattened and plastered over it. If you could superimpose every dead animal hit by a car since that road was built, it would be a road entirely covered in fur and feathers and blood and meat. Death is all around us. We're up to our neck in it. It's ubiquitous. It's natural. I don't think there's any real reason my life should have more meaning or value than any of those dead flattened animals. In the animal kingdom I'm long dead. Not fit for survival. I've been kept alive through artificial means, so I can only have an artificial life. I can't live but I can be kept alive.

was searching for analysis on the conjunction of the military-industrial complex and counterculture depicted in 'the scope' bar from the crying of lot 49 and i didn't find that but did find the entire text of the crying of lot 49 dumped to genius as 'lyrics'????

Nothing made sense but feeling. I don't mean sentimentality; I mean sensations. Either some portion of the inside surface of my skin moved, or else there was nothing. For this reason, I've never and don't need to say anything to anyone and I let them say whatever they want to me. I'm happy whenever I rub up against someone like a dog.
