Since housewarden, rugs, frosh, snakey boy (jamil) and even wolfie (anwir) did it, I thought, let's take it a step further. I actually went to the beach a while ago and let myself show off my fae traits. For instance! I cover my fae ears with my hair, I cover my face feathers with magic and my legs are completely blue so I lie and say they are blue tights with fishnets over them. Also my eye is fucked but i dont care. Enjoy my pack solidarity with the 'bra' which is just a female swim top.

Bai doesn't fight it, hugging back a little less awkwardly than last time. the upperclassman's excitement and genuine whimsy is . . . refreshing. not so cynical and such. “ i have no reason to say no. ”
the goldfinch likes to lean into the hug, wings flapping a little - when it does eventually cease, Bai looks around to check that the basket kevin carried hadn't spilled its contents everywhere. “ . . . i have not been on a picnic with a friend, before. ” a pause, beady golden eyes looking up at kevin. “ we are friends, correct? i just. ”
“ . . . wanted to make sure. ”
Of course were friends! I don't just hang out with anyone! Your the first fae that I've ever hung out with and... a beat of silence i wanna build more of a bond with you. If that makes sense.

that's. . . surprisingly normal of a request? . . . . . . . the younger fae looks stunned that it's something so. . . casual. like when something you've ever only seen in books or movies happens to you. Bai's pupils dilate wide for a moment before returning to their pin-prick size.
“ y'wanna- you want to have a . . . picnic hang out with me? ” despite the cautious tone, Bai seems delighted!- as delighted as someone inexpressive as the goldfinch is could seem. “ it. . . would be nice. it is okay. ”

THE YOUNG FAE IN QUESTION WAS NOT EASY TO FIND. which, given that kind of skittish nature that the goldfinch had, it was only natural. . . it takes a long time to find who he looks for, but eventually. . .
. . . an actual goldfinch bird lands on his arm. this one has beady golden eyes that stare at him and his picnic basket.
