The shy fox of House Savannaclaw. Russ isn't chatty at first impressions, he just takes some time to open up to his peers. He wasnt expecting to be sent to NRC of all schools, since no one in his family had ever made it there before. Was it perhaps a mistake? it didn't look like the headmaster had any intention to right it, so for now, hes stickin there with the Ramshackle Runts and trying to help where he can while still graduating with his best efforts!

[Ellis couldn’t stand by while his dormmates were suffering! As terrified as he was…he had to find out what was happening. Was it too late to stop it? Only one way to find out.]

[He checks his bag one more time— health potions, first aid kit, extra bandages, a notepad and pen to write down discoveries…armed with his wits and medical training, he could hopefully, HOPEFULLY find a way to end this all. Before he falls, too.]

[Ellis steps out into the danger, clutching his bag tightly to his chest.]

“…I hope it’s not too late.”

It had become a mess...truely a domino effect at its finest. Destruction....hopefully Crowley had a way to fix this once he decided to grow a pair.

How...how could the school begin to fall so fast? Well, the answer was nearby, prowling around in search of sevens know what.

He was barking out, sounding like warnings to any threats that may be near. Walking appeared to be a chore, but a much needed one for the hunt.

[Ellis flinches at the sound of the barking, but he knows better than to approach. At least right now. Instead, he keeps walking forward, mindful of the rubble of Savanaclaw.]

[Quiet. He had to be quiet. He slows his pace so that he makes less noise.] [He could smell how thick the air was, so he reaches into his bag and pulls out a face mask and puts it on.]

[Where to look first…maybe the lounge? Would there even be clues there…?]

[He starts making his way there.]

as the fox follows, there appears to be a silence in the dorm. It was almost as if you could mistake it for night time, everyone asleep...but with the mess going on, anyone would know better...

[Ellis quietly bends down, shuffling through what remains of the lounge. Any papers, scents, maybe a trail of some kind…? It’s a bit hard to see in the dark, but…he can make out something. He’s not sure, though…]

There was indeed a trail of blood, it looks older, maybe a few hours at best. It's not quite a clean trail, but small splats every now and then mixed with paw prints. Fox prints. The root.

Anything else besides the scratches and blood would be useless..

[Ellis straightens up to follow, but first, he jots down the discovery in his notebook.]

Trail of blood found leading from the lounge elsewhere. Possibly a few hours old by this point. Fox prints. The scent is still strong.

[They tuck the notebook back in their bag, turning back to the trail.]

[Nothing left but to follow…and stay as quiet as possible.]

The dormitory looks vacant in every hall they go...which is odd, again. The trail appears to lead to what must have been russ's dorm. The door was wide open.

[Ellis takes a hesitant step inside. They keep their ears perked for any sounds of danger, ready to flee in a moment’s notice if it comes down to it.]

[They know they’re being watched. They just don’t know where they’re being watched from.]

the room was a mess. Glass was broken, the desk has been cleared off with things all over the floor, and jot to mention the blood and fur. Whatever happened appeared to have come with a struggle...

There is a paper ripped with messy writing and an open marker near it.

[The second year stumbles back in shock at the sight, but quickly regains his composure and steps back in. With a bit of levitation magic, he cleans the area enough so that he won’t cut himself on the glass shards.]

“…just in case…I still have my bandages ready…”

[Ellis’s head tilts slightly when he notices the paper. He takes one more quick look-around before slowly bending down, kneeling next to the shreds and brushing over them with his gloved hands.]

“What…is this…?”

[…he considers trying to repair the shreds here.]

through the patchwork mockup of what it once was, the paper appeared to be a list of symptoms.

"Itching started up again accompanied by a headache. Could simply be an allergic reaction. Take meds and stay hydrated. [LOG 1] Scratching feeling at the back of neck, comes with the headache now. [LOG 2] Scratches feel precise, but could just be nothing. Call mama about it tomorrow. [LOG 3] NOT ALLERGIES NOT BITES NOT NORMAL NOT NOTMAL ITS NOT NORMAL ITS SOMETHING ELSE IT HAS TO BE LINKED TO C-

the frantic writing appears to be ripped off at the end, but that missing piece isn't found.

Some screech of sorts comes from outside the dorm...

[Ellis carefully copies what they can make out from the paper into their notebook. The last part makes them pause…what word was cut off? Was it a word or a name?]

“…symptoms seem similar to common allergies…scratching…this feels more like it could be linked to…magic…” [they mumble to themself as they write. They tap their pen on their chin in thought for a moment— they’re less experienced with magic than medicine, but perhaps he could still use his medical knowledge to—]

[The screech startles Ellis badly enough that he fumbles and falls over, making a small ‘thud’ sound when they land. They scramble to tuck their notes away, ducking into the nearest hiding spot and slamming their hands over their mouth.]

[They know better than to go out into the danger…that’s how people in those horror movies always get killed! But…they can’t just leave behind a peer, right? Especially if there’s danger…]

[Steeling their nerves, they stand up and peek around the corner of the door frame…]

[The best idea he’s got right now? Grab one of Russ’s blankets to mask his own scent and GET OUT OF THERE. So he does just that— he grabs one of the blankets off the bed and wraps it around his torso and on his head. Then, he leaps out of the window—]

[Ellis lands with a roll, unscathed from the fall. WHERE DID YOU LEARN THAT—?! He stands and dusts himself and his makeshift cloak off, glancing back up at the window. Then, with an exhale, he turns to the outside.]

[Ellis takes off, and WOW, he is more tired than he thought?! He has to stop not too far from the dorms. He ducks behind a rock, pulling the blanket a bit further over his head as he regains his breath.]

[He pulls out his notebook, writing the following:]

Encountered Russ Foxglove. I managed to escape through the window, taking one of his blankets to try and cloak my own scent with his. I will return it once this is all over. Hopefully.

I hope the Housewarden is all right. Maybe if I’m lucky, I can find him. But I don’t want him to get too involved either. If he gets infected with whatever this is, this could spell out an international crisis. I know I can’t do this alone, however.

Foxglove seemed more like an animal than a person in that moment. It makes me think about one of our classes. Was it Ancient Curses? This is definitely something magical.

I will continue to keep track of my discoveries until I either fall or solve this.

Oh, me and Russ go way back. We met through a mutual friend. He broke my trust, my respect. Committed a sin.

This is his punishment, I believe it fits his crime.

His victims in Night Raven College are just collateral, they mean nothing to me, truely.

[Something was very obviously wrong. That much was clear.]

[Ellis couldn’t stand by while his dormmates were suffering! As terrified as he was…he had to find out what was happening. Was it too late to stop it? Only one way to find out.]

[He checks his bag one more time— health potions, first aid kit, extra bandages, a notepad and pen to write down discoveries…armed with his wits and medical training, he could hopefully, HOPEFULLY find a way to end this all. Before he falls, too.]

[Ellis steps out into the danger, clutching his bag tightly to his chest.]

It had become a mess...truely a domino effect at its finest. Destruction....hopefully Crowley had a way to fix this once he decided to grow a pair.

How...how could the school begin to fall so fast? Well, the answer was nearby, prowling around in search of sevens know what.

He was barking out, sounding like warnings to any threats that may be near. Walking appeared to be a chore, but a much needed one for the hunt.

[Ellis flinches at the sound of the barking, but he knows better than to approach. At least right now. Instead, he keeps walking forward, mindful of the rubble of Savanaclaw.]

[Quiet. He had to be quiet. He slows his pace so that he makes less noise.] [He could smell how thick the air was, so he reaches into his bag and pulls out a face mask and puts it on.]

[Where to look first…maybe the lounge? Would there even be clues there…?]

[He starts making his way there.]

as the fox follows, there appears to be a silence in the dorm. It was almost as if you could mistake it for night time, everyone asleep...but with the mess going on, anyone would know better...

[Ellis quietly bends down, shuffling through what remains of the lounge. Any papers, scents, maybe a trail of some kind…? It’s a bit hard to see in the dark, but…he can make out something. He’s not sure, though…]

There was indeed a trail of blood, it looks older, maybe a few hours at best. It's not quite a clean trail, but small splats every now and then mixed with paw prints. Fox prints. The root.

Anything else besides the scratches and blood would be useless..

[Ellis straightens up to follow, but first, he jots down the discovery in his notebook.]

Trail of blood found leading from the lounge elsewhere. Possibly a few hours old by this point. Fox prints. The scent is still strong.

[They tuck the notebook back in their bag, turning back to the trail.]

[Nothing left but to follow…and stay as quiet as possible.]

The dormitory looks vacant in every hall they go...which is odd, again. The trail appears to lead to what must have been russ's dorm. The door was wide open.

Go in?

“Oh dear…Foxglove’s dorm…?”

[Ellis takes a hesitant step inside. They keep their ears perked for any sounds of danger, ready to flee in a moment’s notice if it comes down to it.]

[They know they’re being watched. They just don’t know where they’re being watched from.]

the room was a mess. Glass was broken, the desk has been cleared off with things all over the floor, and jot to mention the blood and fur. Whatever happened appeared to have come with a struggle...

There is a paper ripped with messy writing and an open marker near it.

[The second year stumbles back in shock at the sight, but quickly regains his composure and steps back in. With a bit of levitation magic, he cleans the area enough so that he won’t cut himself on the glass shards.]

“…just in case…I still have my bandages ready…”

[Ellis’s head tilts slightly when he notices the paper. He takes one more quick look-around before slowly bending down, kneeling next to the shreds and brushing over them with his gloved hands.]

“What…is this…?”

[…he considers trying to repair the shreds here.]

through the patchwork mockup of what it once was, the paper appeared to be a list of symptoms.

"Itching started up again accompanied by a headache. Could simply be an allergic reaction. Take meds and stay hydrated. [LOG 1] Scratching feeling at the back of neck, comes with the headache now. [LOG 2] Scratches feel precise, but could just be nothing. Call mama about it tomorrow. [LOG 3] NOT ALLERGIES NOT BITES NOT NORMAL NOT NOTMAL ITS NOT NORMAL ITS SOMETHING ELSE IT HAS TO BE LINKED TO C-

the frantic writing appears to be ripped off at the end, but that missing piece isn't found.
