Before Jamie Lee Curtis became Hollywood royalty, her mother Janet Leigh was rewriting the rules of horror cinema — one shower at a time.

Born Jeanette Helen Morrison in Stockton, California to working-class parents, Janet was discovered at just 18 years old by Norma Shearer. MGM signed her immediately. She spent the next decade building one of the most eclectic filmographies in Golden Age Hollywood — westerns, musicals, swashbucklers, dramas — before Hitchcock saw something in her that nobody else had.

Marion Crane in Psycho (1960) made Janet Leigh immortal. The shower scene. The scream. The iconic cut. A Golden Globe. An Oscar nomination. And a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Patricia Neal was 25 years old when she uttered the most famous line in science fiction history — a phrase that's been quoted, referenced, and debated for over 70 years. She said it with such calm authority that you believed every word.
