If Coriane had lived, Elara would've constantly had to wrestle her for control over Maven because she would've been determined to treat him as warmly as she did her own son

Tibe was always one drink away from admitting he didn't know how to love his kids now that Coriane was gone

Maven used to openly badmouth Coriane, just repeating shit his mother said about her, until Tibe blew up at him and he learned to keep it to himself

Cal would try to get Tibe and Maven to play with him at the same time, and Tibe would just kinda sideways glance at Maven like "oh. you're here." and tell them both he had official duties, and so did they

Cal would sometimes be jealous of Maven for actually having a mother, and it was one of the reasons he never let himself fully resent Elara before the betrayal or believed the rumors about her bc he believed they loved each other and he couldn't take that away from him
